Yes, you have arrived.

My wife is getting used to me being in trousers again pretty much full time, but beams somewhat when I do put on a skirt as it indicates that I'm happy.

Here's another one, wear a skirt, no comment, wear trousers and still no comment.
That was my work experience this week.

I was trousered at my choir practice last week. There were a couple of comments, but I think it was more because I was wearing a suit, and people were wondering if that meant I had found gainful employment again than anything else. (I had only been at a job interview, unsuccessfully as it has since turned out.) On other occasions, my trousers have not raised any comments, and I agree it is best that way.

However I did manage to garner quite a few second glances a couple of weeks ago when I turned up in a black sweater, black skirt and red tights. I think the tights were a bit much for some people, but I like them. However the poor substitute conductor appeared not to have been warned, and he just couldn't believe his eyes. He stared, open-mouthed, when I strode in and sat down, and for the next 10 minutes his eyes were drawn irresistably to my colourful pins! It didn't help that I was in the front row, in full view.
Keep on skirting,

This is an interesting item. It's great to hear of all this acceptance !
I have been wearing skirts at home lots recently. My daughter and her partner, who are living at my house for a while, are fine with my skirts. My oldest daughter who comes in to do office work two days a week is also fine. My cleaner has seen me in a skirt quite a few times. I have answered the door to the window cleaner & the parcel delivery girl. We had the telephone company engineer in fitting faster broadband Internet this week while I was skirted and no problems.
Yesterday I went out to fill up the truck with fuel and buy milk at the filling station. The chap at the desk was looking at me every time I glanced over whilst I was filling up. No problem when I went in to pick up milk and pay. There were three young teenagers in the shop and I thought this could be interesting, as they were gathered right by the door. I just steamed on right through the middle of them and not a titter!
So I think it's looking good on the acceptance front ?

Sounds like a great outing!

Are you beginning to see that people really don't care what you wear?

"People don't care what you wear."

But I'd like to know what goes through their head sometimes.
For example, when you there's a knock at the door (repairman, Jehova's witness, postman ...), you open it, and there's the briefest moment of silence before they say hello!
Since I am in skirts and kilts all the time, this happens quite often, but, whatever they think, they swallow their surprise, and there has never been a mention of my clothes. It's business as usual. Does not mean they like or approve, but what does it matter?

In the Dallas area it is quite warm in the fall. I was participating in a community chorus that performed a Christmas concert. I might add I sing second bass.

In September and October I wore only skirts to the rehearsals and nobody said anything about it. When there was a cold snap I wore pants, and I got ribbings big time from a couple of the men for wearing pants!
