Cargo Skirt

Post by skirt24 »

About a month ago I purchased a cargo skirt off of ebay. I really like the skirt and it is very comfy. I sent a picture to a friend and they said they had to look twice because they thought I was wearing shorts. I will have a pic up in the next day or so. Right now I have been down sick since the first week of this month with sinus and flu like symptoms and trying to recover from that battle.

Let's hope you are not allergic to cargo skirts!

I too have a cargo skirt, khaki coloured, also purchased off e-bay for a few pounds but the zip needs to be fixed. Unfortunatley it does tend to drift downwards after wearing it for a time. OK it you have a sweatshirt covering the area but as summer may be approaching, it need some work done to it. Not sure why but it may be the button fastening at the top needs to be moved. or is it the limited middle-age spread pushing outwards?

I'll probably have to go to a shop to get it looked at - I would have to explain it is mine and possibly wear it to show the problem in-situ. Got to find some time to do that

That's why I insist on belt loops on my bottoms (skirts and pants) so I can wear a belt so the bottom won't fall down.

I like to wear a belt too, but the skirt still has to be the right size. If it's too big round the waist, it will get folds beneath the belt and look all wrong. That's the advantage of kilts and wrap skirts : they can be adjusted to the wearer's size and stay smooth with a belt.

Martin (who really ought to have asked what distinguishes a "cargo" skirt from any other)

Cargo skirts are also available from outdoor stores.
An example is the The North Face Horizon Skirt. Light weight nylon (static!!!) with large pockets, ideally suited for hot summers.
It is in stock at an outdoor store here in Holland but that's of no use to you! Perhaps the skirts can be obtained from an outdoor store near where you live.

I can't imagine being allergic to a cargo skirt, now maybe I could develop an allergy to whatever "cargo" that might be in the pockets from tyme to tyme. :D :D :D :faint:
I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

I have now been to Quickstitch and the lady there confirmed that a new zip is required. Getting it back on Friday. It will probably mean that the zip will be more expensive than the skirt!

I have half a mind to try it out in the shop and keep it on after paying for the work done... 8)

I have seen skirts like that for sale on ebay here in America. I have not checked the local shops though. Now I am needing to have mine took up a little bit. I have lost about 10 pounds (US) and it now wants to hang like a thug with his pants on the ground showing his undies.
