1352 Euro for a Givenchi skirt? (Or any skirt for that matter)
Not in a 1352 years!
I 'd have to sell my Bugatti Veyron..................

Re: Admittedly out of (almost) everyone's price range....
Are there really people naive enough to buy this sort of trash?
On another page there are polos (is there anything as dull, shapeless, unflattering and commonplace as a polo?) for up to 365 € !!!
Perhaps they weave gold threads into the "designer" labels.

Even if I ignore the prices there is nothing there I would wear apart from the Givenchy. The others are too loud or too restrictive, so not for me. The Givency seems to be a gaberdine non-wrapping interpretation of a kilt, not bad at all, but £1134? You can keep the leggings (£310) and the t-shirt (£228).
However, it is good to see a website on which the menswear section includes skirts as a sub-heading; that is a very encouraging sign.
Have fun,
Ian.

For the price of the Givenchy "kilt", you could buy 2 maybe, 3 Scots Kilts. Most kiltmakers, at these prices, would be quite happy to customise to one's heart's deliight.

Hmmm ... maybe not. I will continue to buy from the less feminine end of skirts aimed at women.
This evening's cost £5 on Ebay. £1134? Hahahahahahaha ha ha!

Re: Admittedly out of (almost) everyone's price range....
People have already commented on the overpriced kilt, so I'll direct my attention to the men's dresses on the same site.
Are they serious about the first few???
The only two wearable designs are the £2000 silk item and the £784 wool sleeveless one, but I still can't get over the prices

Re: Admittedly out of (almost) everyone's price range....
I had a look through some of the other pages of the site -- everything vastly overpriced, though, of course, we must take into account the number of work hours involved in making artistically placed holes in what would otherwise be just another pair of trousers or shorts. Only the most highly-trained staff could do this and they deserve whatever pay they can get for such praiseworthy imagination!
When I think of all the worrying sometimes evidenced on forums such as this about what people might think if you wear a (gasp) skirt ... If people go out to be seen in items displayed in this catalog, then I really think there is no need to worry about being seen in a normal skirt.

The sellers are living in fairyland. These are too expensive and look revolting. There are better, cheaper skirts, even some intended for women.

Did I ever tell you about the time several months ago when I looked out the side window of my 80 passenger limo (AKA articulated Neoplan bus) and saw one of said beasts traveling down the side street? It turned and paced my vehicle for the next several blocks. Never expected to see one of those.

I can hardly afford a new bicycle, let alone a Bugatti Veyron.
It 's just my vivid imagination................

I have only seen one and it taught me a new motoring equation; allow me to explain:skirted_in_SF wrote:Did I ever tell you about the time several months ago when I looked out the side window of my 80 passenger limo (AKA articulated Neoplan bus) and saw one of said beasts traveling down the side street? I was having lunch last summer outside a pub opposite the main entrance to Cliveden House (formerly home to the Astor Family, now a National Trust property leased out as a very expensive hotel). My friend and i heard a very tuned engine coming up the driveway from the hotel and turned to witness the Veyron leave the hotel and drive across the road into the pub car park. A car park covered with gravel giving a smooth look to a heavily potholed parking area... I am now in a position to inform anyone who'd like to know that:
Veyron + deep gravel = very expensive graunching sounds + significant paintwork damage + unhappy driver.
On this occasion it also produced a cheer from the folks in the pub, who had all heard the driver light the fuse to come up the hotel drive. What was that old saw about pride and a fall?
I have to confess my pint of Fullers London Pride tasted even better once I'd seen the look on the driver's face.
Have fun,
Ian.

Re: Admittedly out of (almost) everyone's price range....
Silly prices for silly designs. I'll stick to my reasonably priced £300 kilts and £30 (womens) skirts thanks.
Re: Admittedly out of (almost) everyone's price range....
They are all overly expensive but I do hope that in time we'll see more websites selling skirts and dresses to men. (Although I was hoping by 2012 most men would be wearing skirts by now!!!!)

Re: Admittedly out of (almost) everyone's price range....
The skirts all seem to be available to pre-order* for delivery about the end of next month. Maybe that means they are being made to order. I wonder how many they ever make (or sell)?
Other items are available straight away.
* Normally I can resist pedantry when people trash our language. But this one really bugs me! You couldn't exactly post-order something, could you? And it's at its worst when I am asked to pre-order my dessert at the same time as the rest of my meal - how am I meant to know what dessert I will want until I have eaten my starter and main course? Rant over; you got two for the price of one!
