Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. Well today was the day I finally went out in a denim skirt that I fought tooth and nail with my so to buy for myself. I went to a major urban shopping center in brisbane wearing my skirt with an otago rugby top and just a plain pair of unisex converse shoes got a big adrelian rush to be out and about skirted for real man the com fit really nice with the light breeze blowing around my unfetted legs ( skirt fell to just above knee) almost chickened out but turned the fear around to confidence and it worked big time went looking for some new shoes to go with my skirt and the s/a didn't even notice the skirt she evev commented nice shorts which was a little bit of a let down. Come to think of it nobody even noticed or took a second look apart from near home ( real redneck/two headed central) where any took any extended notice. Well from now on I will only wear skirts or cargo style kilts when out on my own as so doesn't approve of wearing in public as yet but slowly coming around. To top off a great day of skirting my new cargo skirt from off ebay was waiting in the mail box when I got home I thought it was only knee length but no what a surprise when I opened it and found it to be a full length maxi skirt that i've been trying to find in the shops for ages. Score!! looks great on comes to just below ankles will have to post photos of my skirts and kilt soon. Any one in and around brisbane Qld feel free to drop me a pm for a get together during the week as that I work nights.
Happy skirting go ALLL BLACKS and Warriors for nrl premiers
The rush will soon disappear, as you become more used to being skirted. In some ways I miss that, but it is more than compensated for by the comfort I feel and the dramatic increase in my self-confidence.
Welcome to the big wide skirted world, have fun in it,
Ian.
Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

"went looking for some new shoes to go with my skirt and the s/a didn't even notice the skirt "
That is something I might have hesitated before doing in a skirt, years back when shop assistants groveled at your feet to put the shoes on you. These days, no problem; they just hand you the shoe and leave you to get it on yourself.
It's good too that we are getting some new people active on the forum.
