Test Run
Well, I wanted to give an update after my previous post "Need to vent my frustration". This week my running skirt arrived and I had been eager to give it a test under real circumstances. Well, today was the day and I can say in short it went better than I thought. Firstly, the skirt is wonderfully comfortable and I enjoyed every second wearing it. Secondly, I prepared to go for a run on the beach in the evening, but while it was still sunny. I made it a point to not get shy but just be confident as if it is completely normal for a guy to wear a skirt. I first spent some time on the beach but become eager to be seen among some people, simply to get a reaction and test out peoples response. I was really expecting someone to get all excited and say "Are you wearing a skirt?", but to my relief........Nothing. I decided to run around the block on the main road then back to my car, passing a girl on the way who wasn't fazed in the slightest and seem more interested in her phone call than me in a skirt. so will this uneventful run I decided to go for a drive to a local shop to buy some water (coz this is what runners drink lol). As I walked into the shop I got my water and went to the counter to pay the woman. Expecting some reaction but........nothing, like I was wearing a pair of shorts. Now at this stage I was starting to expect that maybe no one saw the skirt, I mean it is possible, so I drove to another shop to buy something else. Now this woman must have seen that I was wearing a running skirt as she had to walk passed me to get to the counter. Amazingly, no unusual reaction. She must of been in her 40s and spoke to me nicely like to a son, but not bothered at all that I was wearing a skirt. After this I drove home and in my reflection I cannot say this will be the normal reaction always but at most I think this is what I can expect. I was really amazed how people in this generation seem to be far lest bothered by diversity, and I really believe this can be a win for all of us who have so longed to venture out into the world. In the past I have been out in public but completely en-femme which was so much more work and difficult, but when I was just being me, in a skirt, I found that I felt so much more confident.

Re: Test Run
I can relate to that. I have been wearing skirts pretty much full time since the weather got warmer. I've been out running errands and visiting my favourite shop (the Beer Store. That's where we buy beer here in Ontario. And I do buy a fair amount .) I have had no comments until last week. I went to the afore mentioned Beer Store where I am a regular, while wearing the so called "invisible denim" skirt. There were two women working at the time, one in her twenties and the other in her late 40's or early 50's I would guess. Both of them have seen me in there on numerous occasions while wearing a skirt or kilt and I had not even noticed. On this visit they finally did notice. The older one said "You are wearing a skirt!" To which I replied "yes". She asked the obvious question, "Why?" To which I replied "why not, its comfortable and cool". The younger one replied "and airy". I said "and airy too" and her reply was and cute" The older one looked and just kinda shrugged it off and went on her business while the other one looked at me smiling as I said back to her "ya and cute too". So I have come to the conclusion that it really is OK for men to wear skirts and still look masculine. Why not?
