Re: Genderless Baby
That's pretty much what my Mom did when I was first born until we moved and I had to go to public school at Jr. High School (9th grade). She home schooled me and kept me in long hair, skirts and dresses. She'd lost 5 female babies to non-compatible blood types of my Mom and Dad. They'd lived up to age 3 mos, 6 mos, 1 yr, 2 yrs, 4yrs, and 10 yrs + one other male child that had died at birth like me. I saw my dead fetus on the stainless table move from looking down at the ceiling and the mop monkey screaming for the doctors to come back, or I'd have stayed dead too. By the time I was 10 I had lots and lots of all different sizes girls clothes from 1yr to 10yrs. waiting for me as long as Mom wanted to dress me in them and Dad didn't care. We lived in a trailer, my Mom was a waitress and my Dad was a carpenter, so any way to save $$ was fine with him.
I screamed bloody murder with my first time of having all my hair cut off. Mom had been keeping it at my waist with bangs at shoulder length in front. All our neighbors thought I was a daughter, not a son. What a shock for the neighborhood. I wore pants from then on until 1971 when I was in a movie in the South Pacific and became re-acquainted with sarong type skirts.
After 6 months making the movie "Deadly Fathoms" and getting re-used to skirted garments, I continued to wear sarongs inside my home until 2004 when I found this site. I started wearing skirts and jumpers again in public in 2005 after all the re-inforcement this site gave me and have never looked back.

I have a khaki cotton twill mid-calf skirt and a khaki cargo shirt waiting to dress my body for the grave, whenever that happens.

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

Re: Genderless Baby
This also made the BBC, and based on this comment from the parents: "the whole world must know what is between the baby's legs is unhealthy, unsafe, and voyeuristic", I smell nutters.
Thank goodness that children are resilient; that kid is going to have one hard go of recovering from his parents' weirdness once he (or she) gets out into the real world.

Re: Genderless Baby
Over the top, certainly.
But parents can encourage their children to follow their non-gender based interests without going to such extremes. I had dolls, but so did my brother. I played with makeup and so did he. He had toy trucks and I had a train set. We both had building block type toys. He cries more easily than I do. His drawings had lots of energy and movement and mine were either portraits or abstract surrealisms. He loves children. I don't.
However, the gender equality thing hit the wall when I was in high school and he poured my cologne all over himself, completely emptied the bottle. When I complained to the parents at dinner, he, stinking to high heaven of lily-of-the-valley, denied it.

Diana,
Boys are made from slugs and snails and puppydogs' tails. Girls are made from sugar and spice and all things nice!

That must explain my affinity for escargot -- and her diabetes.Kirbstone wrote:Boys are made from slugs and snails and puppydogs' tails. Girls are made from sugar and spice and all things nice!
