Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. Can you buy an off-the-peg or rush order kilt in London - wandered around Camden today and couldn't find anything...or do I need to go to a trad-shop?
I'm looking for something more like a black leather or plain Utilikilt/Unionkilt although I'd happily wear my partner's tartan unless someone has a hissy (depends on the nature of the definition of a 'clansman' I guess - and also those old rules weren't really written for same-sex relationships
And of course tomorrow is a public holiday...grr! Would love to know in future though, since this is the second time I've looked.

I try not to spend too much time in London but on a trip to the British Museum, about three years ago, I found a Highland Shop selling kilts (amongst other things), more or less opposite the main entrance to the museum.
Have fun,
Ian.

I've got a nice black utility kilt which I bought off the peg from Tartanista of London for around £50. I bought it online so I don't have an address for them but perhaps you might find them in a London area yellow pages phone book.
I got one via AllAlbion I think he's called - kindly met up with me on a Good Friday and had a black wool slightly checked kilt that fit! Result.
So this is what I DJ'd in (and was wandering around London the next day in...I got nothing but nice comments and I'm totally sold on kilts. I want more, and want to wear them more!
And yes I DJ'd in a top hat...not easy with headphones...
