Why do men not wear skirts?
I'm fairly sure the vast majority on here would dearly love to know the answer to that question, but there isn't one. Not even two, or three, or four ....
I've drafted up some comments on why men in Australia don't wear skirts publicly and often (even though the climate lends itself to wearing them). Much of what I've written will apply just as well to folks in other parts of the "western" world. Please feel free to look at http://www.men-in-skirts.org/skirtsinAus.html and send your comments to the email address at the bottom. It's a work in progress so your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Very well written and living in Australian I totally agree with your arguements. I do on occassion appear publicly in skirts but only in certain areas and wearing certain skirts, usually linen above or to the knee with pockets and dark colours unpatterned, for me this is more "male".

I agree wholeheartedly. Just wish I didn't feel like the only one around here willing to do the right thing.nicothoe wrote:But we do wear skirts! Just not all of us...

Since almost every woman wears pants maybe men are wanting to dress like the typical 21st Century woman. Perhaps most men are in denial that pants are no longer an exclusively a masculine garment.
