Re: skirt? skort? short?

Couya, you deserve an award for experimentation.

My profession is in design and thus well practised in post-rationalisation but I am struggling to think of a good reason to wear this garment.

They look very practical and hard wearing.

Re: Discussion of gender neutral clothing and men in skirts

And I disagree that the gender neutral movement is unimportant to men who want society to accept that there is nothing unnatural about men wearing skirts. I suppose my criticism of gender neutral clothing is it seems to be currently applied to a few items specifically designed to "feminise&quo...

Re: Discussion of gender neutral clothing and men in skirts

What would a gender neutral skirt look like? Probably grey or brown without much flare, a bit like a sack - I bet it wouldn't be pink or frilly. I have spent a lifetime of dismay with menswear. I really don't think gender neutral helps us at all in freedom to wear what we want to wear. It will prob...

Re: "The Boy in The Dress" raises a question.

The film has not yet aired on Australian TV to my knowledge but I did watch it on youtube and quite enjoyed it. It didn't seem to be a transgender issue but a boy who wanted to wear a dress, and a pretty colourful dress too, which made a nice and relevant story. I did a search for "boys skirt&q...

Re: Hi from Outback Australia

Thanks all for your encouragement. It actually had an impact yesterday when I could see a neighbour approaching while I was outside painting in my frayed denim mini. Previously I would duck inside and slip into something uncomfortable. This time I thought damn it, I will just ride this out. He had c...

Re: Hi from Outback Australia

not everyone has included their location in their profile information so an exact number will never be possible So, if I was to do this, it'd be (1) a heck of a lot of work and (2) not all that accurate. Oz and the US are vast places. Thanks, I did notice that there were a lot of blank address cell...

Re: Hi from Outback Australia

There are a few of us Aussies here. I am in the York Peninsula of South Australia. Where are you? Hi Peter and John, We are certainly spread out. I am out past Broken Hill. I do not know how many Aussie members here - the membership list can be set in order of location but is listed by town name an...

Re: Hi from Outback Australia

Thanks Jeremy for you thoughts and support. I visited your website and found it enlightening in a number of areas. All helpful towards boosting my confidence, and many others no doubt, to go public. I know it should not be such an issue but there are a few elderly locals whom I like and respect and ...

Re: "Unisex". Let's just stop it.

Damn, I am meant to be working - but can't help putting in my two bob's worth. Perhaps the uni is from universus - meaning that the actual one item would fit all genders (3 in Australia). However, I think the terms pants, jeans, skirts, shorts are non gender specific but the cut or shape of each wou...

Thanks, that makes sense and I certainly support that idea.
