Re: Nightwear/House dress?

I have three or four nightdresses very similar in style that have lasted years, it looks like they have changed from supima cotton to standard cotton recently though: https://s7.landsend.co.uk/is/image/LandsEnd/542714_LEPP_FF_HME?$lg$ https://www.landsend.co.uk/Womens_Short_Sleeve_Cotton_Nightdress_...

Re: Pretty Red Dress - film on BBC2 (UK) last night

I didn't see the film but a quick Internet Search yielded a review:

Sounds interesting.

Corrected.

Re: Snag Tights

Strangely, despite having made half a dozen orders with Snag over the last few years I have never thought to write to them, so well done for that :) I would guess that quite a large number of their customers are already men without them needing to change anything, after all they do go up to quite la...

Re: Dresses?

This spring and summer I haven't worn any skirts at all, I have really taken to dresses, I particularly like dresses that you can just pull over your head. The recent trend for tiered smock style dresses is great for that, loose and comfortable and don't slide down or dig in, brilliant.

Re: Regrets

As the Butthole Surfers once said:

"Well son, a funny thing about regret is that its better to regret something you have done than to regret something you havent done"

Also, well done and keep it up!

Re: Tom Manuel of TomsCafe, died 20 years ago today.

Time flies, I remember Tom's Cafe and can only praise the dedication he must have had to open and maintain a forum in a niche area of interest. Obviously I never met him but he seemed like a very nice chap based on his posts.

Re: Overly Flamboyant Outfits Detrimental to Mainstreaming MIS?

I love the idea of trying to create rules for breaking the rules :?: For me anything legal and decent is OK. OTT is great occasionally! The flamboyant folk are doing you a massive favour, liken it to a fancy sports car in the supermarket car park, everybody looks at the Lamborghini and so fails to n...

Quite surprised to find Tatler covering this sort of stuff.

Re: Pride

I think Pride is very important, the freedoms achieved for LGBT folk in the UK could easily be whittled away by the efforts of minority pressure groups over time. Same Sex Marriage in this country was opposed by more Conservative MPs than supported it and they introduced the Bill.

Re: Young Again (Radio 4)

You can listen to it without having an account here: https://www.listennotes.com/it/podcasts/young-again-bbc-radio-4-pejknQgOmEA/ For starters Kirsty Young called his enthusiasm for clothes of the opposite sex a fetish... there was an unnecessary sexual undercurrent. I did like the rather obvious ob...

Young Again (Radio 4)

Kirsty Young was chatting to Sir Grayson Perry on Radio 4 (UK Radio Channel). She managed to infuriate me at least once as did Sir Grayson a couple of times. Worth a list on iPlayer or BBC Sounds if you have it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/5lp2J9VbmDHdBVx0YqCrktD/grayson-perry-seven-th...

Re: circle skirts and double circles

I have three skirts that are not quite full circle skirts but close, they are made/sold by 'Hell Bunny', the great thing is they have pockets if you choose the right style. I wear an old one for garage work and gardening as it allows full movement and isn't too long, falling to just below the knees....

Re: let's list why we like skirts

What I am attempting to say and quite clearly failing to is that if we just based the differences between males and females on their sex then either gender wouldn't be needed or wouldn't exist. All the other stuff including emotions, clothes, lifestyle etc are not important, they are only perceived ...

Re: let's list why we like skirts

This is also factually incorrect, as gender is influenced by biological and environmental factors. Saying it's a social construction doesn't help us. In a quiet non inflammatory way I would like to suggest that taking gender away would make life a whole lot easier. Imagine a world where some young ...

Re: let's list why we like skirts

I belong to the 'gender is a man made construct' school of thought.

Gender really gets on my wick, my sex is male my gender is none.
