Re: where are we all from

I live in a very small, narrow-minded, redneck town EXACTLY between Seattle, WA and Portland, OR. I can't wait to find a few perfect skirts to walk around town in. I always thought the whole northwest was pretty mellow. No? A always thought that too! I was shocked to find that Lewis County (and Cen...

Re: Avatar size question

PERFECT! 32k allows an image to simply be resized to 80 x 80 without any more fiddling.

My guess is the 6k reflected the age when this site (or program) was created... when Storage was Expensive (and ICQ and Yahoo Messenger were used) :-)

James

Re: Avatar size question

OK, I finally got off my not-so-fat backside and took a look at the avatar settings -- and found the size somehow got limited to 6,144 octets. I've upped that to 32,768 (32k) in an attempt to make things better. Gripe here -- or to me in person -- if it's not any better. THANK YOU SIR! I think 32k ...

I know photoshop fairly well but for the LIFE of me, cannot figure out how to create an 80 x 80 pixel image that is UNDER 6k in size. The best I can do is 16k. Any helpful hints?

Re: Greetings my fellow-skirted men!

Hey, Thanks for your kind replies everyone. I figured this would be a welcoming site. . . I seem to be more drawn to mid-calf to ankle-length skirts, but I'm looking for heavier materials and not a lot of luck yet. . . my search continues. Sizing is all over the place (no news to YOU, I'm sure!). I ...

Re: A question about ugly & bad skirts

Did you click the lookbook link? He's got way too many bizarre looks for just cosplay. Unless he's designing cosplay costumes for other people. But I still think he looks like a play-doll for a 3-year old. But again, if he's having fun with it, why not? JamesKelsey, are you getting the vibe of this...

Re: A question about ugly & bad skirts

... sometimes wouldn't the most supportive thing to say be, "Never ever wear that again."? My first attempt at making a kilt was a bit of a disaster, the material was far too flimsy and it wouldn't fall properly. I knew something was wrong, but in my ignorance I hadn't worked out what it ...

Re: Greetings my fellow-skirted men!

Thanks Cauldron,

Actually, I'm in for a penny, in for a pound and am skipping kilts entirely. I'm looking for a "manly" mid-calf skirt. I've found a few contenders online, but am worried about proper fit.

Yours,
James

Re: Different reactions to kilt and skirt

I think both the bagpipes question and the Scottish question often mask the more basic question, "Why are you wearing that skirt, or, um, kilt? I can't imagine why anyone would do that." So they ask me an evasive question, I give them a smile and an evasive answer. If they manage to ask t...

A question about ugly & bad skirts

I'm new here and have a sensitive question. I'm a huge supporter of gays, trans, crossdressers, and even just manly-men in skirts... BUT... (There's always a 'but', eh?) But I've seen some HORRENDOUS images. . . Pure fashion crimes... skirts 2 sizes too small, age-inappropriateness, and just plain o...

Greetings my fellow-skirted men!

I'm so new to skirts I've yet to own one, but I Found Skirtcafe in my search for the perfect frock! I'm a 50 year old, open-minded, straight, non-crossdressing artist who's wanted to wear skirts as social commentary and a way to create a personal (unique) identity. What a sentence! Hm... I'm looking...
