Re: Man with a Mission to wear a Kilt for a year

Perhaps I am in a minority, but I went from April 2012 to September 2013 only wearing skirts without ever wearing trousers or shorts. Attendance for a family wedding forced me to wear trousers for a few hours, but I have been skirted ever since then which I put down to being extremely lucky in havin...

Re: skirts at oxford

This is a good start to see such a large educational establishment changing outdated rules. But as it only mentions formal occasions, does this imply that the male students could have always worn skirts at any other time if they wanted to? Hopefully some of the schools will take notice and abolish g...

Re: Headbands

I use a headband as I am currently growing my hair and not all of it is long enough to reach where the ponytail is tied. I was forever getting annoyed with my hair flopping in front of my eyes, but thought a headband was too 'girly'. I eventually woke up to the fact that having the confidence to wea...

Re: Sightings "in the wild"

I'm another one from the UK who wears skirts everyday including at work and when out and about town shopping etc. Over the last year, I would guess that I have only worn trousers about 10 times and that was only by necessity (e.g. car maintenance, up a ladder etc). It takes a lot of guts to do it at...

Re: Skirts on TV in UK today

More and more articles are appearing on the web about both the original story with the school boy, and now with TV presenter Adrian Chiles revealing how he would like to wear a skirt. I have just watched 'Have I Got News for you' on TV now and even this primetime highly viewed program has made a men...

...but be prepared to wear pants if we ever have to go to a client, usually churches. I have no problems with that arrangement. I usually wear pants to work because we never know if we will get a call where we have to go out in the field... May I suggest my strategy of keeping a set of trousers at ...

Re: JOBS AND WORK

STEVIE: ...That said, I would dearly like to shock the heck out of my colleagues which is a whole different matter. Brings back memories of when I 'revealed' my skirt to my work colleagues for the first time about 18 months ago... I turned up for work slightly earlier than usual, and remained at my...

Re: Hello from Leicester UK.

Hi E-J, and welcome to SkirtCafe. Nice to see somebody else from the Leicester area! I read your comments with interest as much of what you say strikes a chord with my own personal experiences. I tend to wear below the knee length as, although I have good legs (especially in heels) I feel more comfo...

Re: Stepping out

Congratulations on your first outing skirted with your other half. I'm pleased that she has finally started to 'accept' you going out in public - something my own wife has yet to do, but I am working on it. I hope you found it a liberating experience, although I expect you were probably a bit nervou...

Re: Time to stop lurking...

I'd be hesitant to wear a skirt out at a construction site, not so much as for what others might think but rather that I'd rather not get my "good clothes" all ratty. The site was nearing completion so it was not full of dust and rubble (it had already partly opened to the public), I was ...

Re: Time to stop lurking...

Had you been at Leicester Forest Services (Northbound) at about 14:30 today you could have wandered over and said Hi. I was easy to spot in my green Macabi skirt. I am working in the North-east this week, sadly health and safety rules (and good sense!) prevent me wearing a kilt or skirt in the fact...

Time to stop lurking...

Greetings, Been lurking here for a while, getting to know the forum etiquette and the regulars, but thought it was time to speak up. I first got into skirt wearing about 18 months ago (I'm in my early 30s), when frustrated that my wife had stopped wearing skirts, I jokingly said to her that if you d...
