Re: Pacemaker Infection

With the first surgery, it was a female cardiologist and she was brutal. When I mentioned the pain, I was told I would just have to "suck it up". She would have been a good fit as a ship's doctor in the Royal Navy circa 1700 - giving the patient a swig of run and something to bite on befo...

Re: Holdups!

I've tried several types of hold ups or Thigh Highs as they are sometimes called. My issue with pantyhose or tights is they either fall down, fit uncomfortably around the waist or sag at the crotch. The very best were some from Sarah Borghi, and were an almost entirely opaque 60 denier with excellen...

Re: Pacemaker Infection

Hi Stu, sounds like we have/had similar issues. Mine is 3rd degree block, but without the additional upper chamber issues, though lately have picked up Atrial Fibrillation. Didn't know I had that before a check up. Means I need blood thinners, fortunately my Doctor persuaded the insurance to cover D...

Re: Gawker: Talk to Me When a Man Wears a Mini-Skirt

I'm not sure about the need for a mini, or at least a really short mini, but I agree that most of the men in skirts on that page have no idea how to make a skirt look good on a guy.

Re: Trying on clothes in-store

I don't believe I've ever had issues with changing rooms. When I've been in charge of the changing rooms, I have in fact sometimes suggested the customer try the same item from the other side of the aisle. Sometimes because of fit, (guy with short legs, woman with narrow hips) or maybe simply becaus...

I think it was the Royal Marines experimented with a boarding of a vessel underway with one of those.

Re: Have some fun ?

We (UK) had a celebrity / eccentric, Fred Dibnah, who was originally a steeplejack but ended doing industrial history programmes on TV. He died a while back, but would run around in a steam traction engine, and even did a tour of Britain on it. He was a genuine character. Watched a lot of his progr...

"We continue to monitor a host of variables; disruptions continue at every node in the supply chain," he said. The worldwide supply chain is more complex than most people can comprehend. It is extremely fragile. The world as it exists, as it applies to us humans, is a very complex thing, I...

Re: Pressing the "HOT" button

Sorry if I came on a bit strong. I don't know anyone personally who "encourages" abortions. My attitude is we should do all we can to reduce them, and the best way to do that is Protect vulnerable girls and women. Institute thorough and freely available sex education. Provide birth control...

Re: Pressing the "HOT" button

Now do I think they [abortions] should be banned or encouraged?

Encouraged? Please tell me that was a slip of the tongue.
