Re: First steps in tights

I did a t day hike and wore black compresssion tights / leggings as they had no feet throughout. They were amazingly comfortable and on day 2 I dispensed with shorts and carried on wearing tights. I had no leg pains cramps or hamstring trouble

Re: How do you become skirt wearing

I was working on a Pacific Island and along with several colleagues got a lava lava, I was hooked as it was far more comfortable and practical than trousers, apart from pockets!. Later on I got a tube sarong in SE Asia. In 1983 I was working in Scotland and the barmaid of a local hostelry suggests t...

Re: How do you feel when...

Thanks to the Internet and American films and TV, English has become what the creators of Esperanto wanted, a universal language. I work with multi national teams and English is the common language, the downside is that people from different countries and with different learning experiences often ca...

Re: It's time to call the Stylist

The press and other media is will tend to mock men in skirts, kilts etc, sadly it is the nature of the beast. We are an easy target for a laugh and a joke. In the UK we have the sub culture of the saucy risque inuendo in the carry on films, seaside postcard, pantomime dame etc. Serious commentators ...

Re: The Feel of a Skirt!

I was kilted at a social event this weekend and the sense of freedom is amazing, who would wear trousrs after that? Even on a cold evening you cannot beat it
I also spent much of my holiday in a lungi and felt robbed and confined when I conformed to western norm.

Re: Out and About -- In the World at Large

A kilt is very practical for travelling. I travelled in a kilt earlier this year and got a few smiles and no one really noticed. I had one comment about it must be cold at the car hire but after travelling from Norway it was quite warm. Going through security was easy as everything was in my sporran...

You are 100% right; for those of us with a partner who finds it difficult one must strike a balance. I value my marriage and family highly and I would never act in a way to cause distress no matter how much I disagree. No cajones yes maybe but I am OK with it.

Good luck Skited_in_SF

A complete lack of reaction as no one really worries about what the other person is wearing.
