It was delivered to my office on Monday and it is a very nice kilt. It is heavy, and very well build. I am very pleased with the construction and the design. Since the kilt was build to my measurement, it fits me very WELL!!
It is heavy, but I hardly noticed the weight after I put it on. The leather isn't stiff at all. it is buttery soft. The hardware on the kilt is top notch as well. I can see myself wearing this kilt for a long time. IT looks to be bomb proof.
I will totally buy another kilt from Rkilts.

Congratulations and I wish you health to wear your new leather kilt. I saw a young guy wearing a leather kilt out and about in Edinburgh on Sunday and looking very sharp.

You look very smart in your new kilt. I recognise your picture from another forum where you posted pics. under a different user name.

Cool looking kilt, like the look. Doesn't it seem heavier and harder than even a heavy wool kilt? How will it survive a big rain? will the leather mark or stain?
I like the idea of one of those, if they are as bomb proof as a heavy trad kilt.

They hold up well under abuse. I have worn mine out in the rain a lot I haven't had any problems with it staining. A bit of hand lotion will give it back the original softness. The kilt weighs in around 4lbs.
There is many a time that I have rolled this up to stuff it in a tank bag on my motorcycle. I just give it a quick shake and it's back into shape.
I pretty much live in leather kilts.
Cheers

That kilt.. I love it! The R Kilts are definitely my favorite.. Although they would be 2nd favorite if Pittsburgh Kilts was still around. I'd love to be able to afford even just a regular green R Kilt, let alone the leather. Maybe someday. That sure is a nice looking kilt, very sharp.

I have to take issue with that statement... looks do not indicate a person's intelligence, sir.
OH, forget what I just said, right after typing that I got an image of Paris Hilton in my mind... sorta disproves my statement I guess.

Without knowing this company or their materials, I would hope their leather is tanned and treated like any other garment leather such as motorcycle leathers.
Just wipe it down from time-to-time, keep it clean and make sure you let it dry thoroughly if you're going to store it away anytime.
My old pair of bike chaps sprouted a bunch of new hair once when they got damp in the garage and didn't dry out well.
I used to use neatsfoot on my leathers. Any leather conditioner would probably work fine.
That is a good looking kilt, btw.
You wear it well, young man!
Those boots look quite industrial! Some sort of goth style?

I use premium leather, I have a number of suppliers and I hand pick the hides for each kilt. These kilts should last for generations to come.
Cheers

Thanks for the info on the material.
I'm looking forward to the end of the year so I can get another kilt or two!
I'll keep this one in mind.

Those boots are from New Rocks Boots. Lots of Goths/Industrial folks wear them. They are heavy, clunky and surprisingly comfortable.
