Atypical Kilted Day Out

Post by skirttron »

To my surprise about a week ago, my kilt attracted several rather annoying comments, including a catcall of "I'm a laydee!" (A recent UK comedy show in-joke) and stupid anti-Scottish comments (well, I did live there once I suppose but that fact has nothing to do with why I wear kilts and skirts). I was nonplussed until I realized big rugby matches were being played that day, and I guess they thought I was a fan. In fact I have never attended a rugby match and have only ever attended one football match, so the scheduling of these events passed me by. Back to normal (no comments) when I went to the mall a few days later I'm glad to say.

Yes, the six nations rugby season is with us again. I was out and about kilted in Glasgow last Saturday and in Edinburgh the previous Saturday and on both occasions there were plenty of other kilts to be seen, but I suspect I might have got a few catcalls from rival fans if I'd been in an English city on these days.
