I finally managed to get myself a pair of Dr Marten anistone hi boots in a sale with 50% off price which looks very nice and will look good with fishnet tights and a skirt especially a kilt. However, when I tried to put them on they wouldn’t go on as my heel was getting caught in the throat part of the boot.
I tried and tried and persevered but I couldn’t get them on. I felt really disappointed and thought I was going to have to take them back to the shop for a refund.
However, whilst browsing the net I came across a solution by placing plastic bags on my feet and then putting them on and miraculously I managed to get them on. They really do feel very comfortable but whilst walking in town with them on my toes felt a bit sore but I guess I need to break into them.

Nice boots DF
I would think thin tights would be similar to plastic bags to getting into the boots. The problem with the plastic bags is that you feet will sweat and the sweat will pool in the bag.
Hope you work them out.

Thanks for the advice about thin tights. I put on a pair of black ultra sheer gloss tights and my feet just slid into the boots with ease
The only problem is that the boots feel loose but I’ll try putting on socks then the tights on top of the socks.
I walked into town and around town with the boots on just to break them in and I’m wearing them around the house to break them in more.

I find holding the boots (opening) above the kettle and letting them fill with steam (so they are warm and wet) before putting your feet in with as thick/many socks you can on(use tights or bags to let them slide in easier) helps break them in a lot.
There are special creames/sprays you can use to soften up problem spots too, like the heels or bunions.

Thanks for that Seb. I wish I knew about the steam idea when I was tending to the blisters on my feet for my last pair of boots.
