I've said it many times here it is not all doom and gloom. There's a lot of men out there promoting freedom for men.

I think, with that skirt length, the proportions would have worked better with a somewhat shorter jacket. But I will applaud his willingness to try something different.

Skirts can look perfectly natural on men if the garments and styling approaches are harmonious with a male body. The main reason men wearing skirts tend to look weird is just that many existing garments are designed to exaggerate female body shapes, features that men do not have like wide hips / large waist to hip ratio. Men are not shaped like women and men can not directly adopt most female fashion.

The sooner we can discard the concept of 'men dressing like women', and find styles that actually work on men, the sooner skirts will be accepted into male fashion.

The proportions aren't that different to the 'open jacket over a kimono' idea found in traditional Japanese men's kimono.
