Hello lovely skirted men.

I’ve finally taken the plunge and joined your marvellous forum in the hope of sharing my life with like minded men. I am a frustrated man who would love to be able to wear satin clothing, including skirts and slips without anyone judging me. I have found a few men on line ie The Skirted Man who have shown me the way and this forum has also been an inspiration, allowing me feel that I am not odd or weird for liking the kind of clothing I do.

I live in the south of the UK. I have so many things to write but the bottom line is that I would love to be able to wear satin camisoles, satin maxi skirts, nylon slips and stockings most of the time and I am very envious of women who can without attracting criticism.

Over the years I’ve explored wearing female clothing whilst at home. I’ve worn a nylon half slip, with stockings and a camisole under my man clothes. I’ve shopped at the supermarket wearing these items. I’ve also driven whilst wearing a half slip as a skirt. I’ve also gone to London wearing nylon cami knickers under my jeans and slept in a nightie in hotels.

Then last year I visited Dartmoor and went hiking in black tights, and a plain black satin half slip ( no lace ) that I wore as a hiking skirt. I wore mens boots and a mans hiking jacket. It was a fabulous experience. I got some odd looks from a mother and son and later a man with his wife, but passed a number of people who just smiled. This included three males in their late 20’s.

Over the last few years or so I’ve seen young men wearing skirts in London and in my home town. I approached the young man in London who I was with a girl. he wore an ankle length skirt, chiffon blouse and a girls straw hat. I told him I thought he looked great and was very lucky.

I saw a teenage girl with her parents who was wearing a plum coloured satin nightie, (the style my wife used to wear to bed) as a short dress. Her parent didn’t seemed alarmed. Another tall lady was wearing a full length slip dress as if wearing her nightie. And anther lady about my age was wearing a slip as a skirt. Not a slip skirt, but a slip as a skirt.

I thought how lucky are they that they can go out in public dressed like that and no one cares.

I France a few years ago I saw a young man at the supermarket till with his male friend. He was wearing a white cotton vest top (cami style) and an ankle length sky blue cotton skirt with small white flower pattern and flip flops. He looked great. His mate was dressed like a male.I thought how is he getting away with that.

Today I saw a young man walking near my home and he was wearing a full length multi coloured floral skirt, walking along the main road into town. I spoke to him and complemented him on his skirt. I thought to myself how lucky are you.

So all around me young men and males are wearing skirts but I seemingly unable, unless I want a divorce.



I’m no longer working with an adult family. So a lot to loose if I upset my loved ones. I’ve suppressed my urge since the summer to wear skirts and satin as we have a house full at the moment and my wife does not approve and no one else knows.

This year I let my wife know I was keen to wear more female clothing, but she wasn’t happy. In fact she was scared and frightened. I explained I have a need to wear more comfortable cloths that don’t rip my manhood apart and are lighter in warm climates. I have been exploring naturism and feel the need to be naked or wear loose silky clothes. She accepts the naturism.

I can go to a naturist meeting and sit around naked with both sexes and everyone in very nice. I did mention to one guy about wearing skirts and he said “so you’re a transvestite”. So how is it acceptable to bear all in company but if I were to turn up and disrobe from a satin camisole, satin skirt and Lacey knickers, even my naturist friends would think I’m weird it seems.

On holiday this summer I bought some brightly coloured sky blue floral Indian silk trousers and started to wear them in front of my wife. It was 35oC and so it felt lovely to wear them commando in the heat after a trip to the naturist beach where women rocked up in very short skirts or very long maxi dresses and no underwear. They would be naked in seconds and enjoy the sun. I was very envious of them. One woman wore no knickers , a very short bum length skirt and went to sit in a nearby cafe still no knickers. And I’ve seem it time and time again.
So why cant I wear tights and a skirt, a camisole and knickers. But be respected.

On holiday my wife wasn’t happy. I fact she was confused and upset. I ended up going out on my own to the beach and often just to wear my silk trousers around the local town and neighbouring village, where I got some looks from only a few people and no comments.

The market clothes were so cheap, so I also bought a black satin maxi skirt which I wore around the local market and again I got plenty of looks but no one said anything. Lots of women wore the Indian Silk trousers around the resort. Probably because they are a holiday purchase, so cheap and not available in their home country, and it was so hot. Some young girls wore the Indian silk dresses which were ankle length and tied up around their neck. And they were braless.

I did get to try on a silk dress in one shop but more another day maybe.

Throughout the holiday I was very envious of the women wearing silky tops and skirts, going topless by the pool and braless around the resort. I often thought how lucky they were that they could choose what to wear and I couldn’t.

This is where I am today. I will often go shopping and look at the dresses, skirts and blouses now as if shopping for my wife. I often get followed in the store by staff but if I’m asked I just say Im shopping for myself. I so want to have a chance to dress as a man but with comfortable clothing. And at night maybe wear female PJ’s or nighties.

Once back at home in the summer I did go to a local seaside town and wore my Indian silk trousers and a satin camisole under my hoody which was open and unzipped. It was windy that day. I loved the freedom of wearing the satin camisole and silk trousers around the town. Loads of people passed me and didn’t seem to notice. A few girls did but didn’t comment.

Again I ventured into a shop and male shop assistant was very helpful whilst i looked at another more expensive satin maxi skirt. That time I didn’t try it on but I did say it was for me and he was urging me to buy it of course.

That same day I was approached by a couple whilst I was reading an information board. The woman engaged me in conversation as if nothing was out of the ordinary as stood in front of her in my satin camisole and satin trousers. She and her husband were very polite. I enjoyed that day out and look forward to more next summer.

So I am now looking for places to wear my choice of clothes as I would want to and hope by joining this forum it will give me the strength and conviction to see it through.

I read on this forum that one guy has gone to a museum in Bristol with his wife and felt safe. I may try that and plan to go to Londons art galleries and wear possibly tights and a lace trimmed half slip as a skirt and see what looks I get.

Im not a denim skirt wearer. But have been looking for a walking skirt to wear hiking, but they all seem to be Skorts which is not what I want.

So there you are, thats why I’ve decided to join this forum.

Well done for making the first step in the cafe and registering a username. We are a varied bunch of men who wear a varied set of clothes. Some of us stick firmly to male skirted garments such as the kilt, while other of us take anything from the pink side of the shop that takes our fancy. If you post a couple more times on the various threads that take your eye. When you next log in your username will have turned blue and you will then have access to the more personal areas of the site. One area has members pictures and you will quickly see that some guys are right with you on the bright colours and lighter fabrics. Another area is devoted to members meeting up. In fact had you been in London last weekend, you could have met in a pub with a number of other skirted men and chatted over a pint. Another area has more personal stories from members.

So continue to post anywhere you like and the site will get bigger.

thanks mouse that’s good to know. I saw the meet up in London. I really love the fact you all meet up now and then. I don’t think I look too feminine. Just look like a man in a skirt. I’m keen wear tights more in public and I think I saw you are doing just that. So great to see. Thank you for your welcome.

I wear skirts every day in my working life and leisure. I never liked socks so I am always in tights or stockings of various thicknesses depending on the weather. Today I am in London with 60d black tights on under a Roman denim skirt. Yes I know you don't want to hear about denim, but on a building site, a denim skirt is tough to beat. Leisure skirts are very different as you will see from my picture pages.

London meet-ups are a great destination for a day out in a skirt. Very good for confidence building, since you will find out that no body cares whet you wear in public, it is all in your own head.

I had a pair of stockings once and wore them under my trousers when i went shopping and walking around town. I bought a camisole in Marks and Spencer and took it straight into the changing room after the purchase. I had the stockings on under my trousers.I put on the camisole under my jumper and left the shop. It fitted perfectly and felt really good.

However I have gone through phases where I tried to change my ways as it were and thrown my female clothing away. That was only really to prevent my wife getting upset. The stockings went with some very nice slips, half slips and nighties to the recycling clothes bank.

I really want to get some now and wear them as much as possible.

I have nothing against denim skirts. I’ve seem some very nice slips poking out from under denim skirts. Most recently in Exeter at half term when i visited. The lady wore a lovey green slip with black lace hem. And years ago in Barnstaple a young lady had a lemon coloured chemise poking out from under her denim skirt. So I could do the denim with a slip underneath.

Too be honest I’m still experimenting with sizes. A lot of what I’ve bought I’m too big for, Most items from charity shops fit me though. I quite like the thinner tights as well and cant seem to get the right size. I’ve just been looking for camisoles on line and they don’t have many in 2xL or bigger.
I bought a cami set in France a few years ago from a boutique. I got a size too small and it’s very tight on me. I do wear it now and then to sleep in when my wife is away. I also bought a set in Venice years ago. Camisole and cami knicker set for the bedroom. But I had to say it was for my wife and we got the sizing wrong. I couldn’t get into it once I got home. Expensive mistake that time. So I’m still very much learning.

I’d love to wear dresses but haven’t done so yet in public. Apart from trying one on in a shop in france.

I like that you wear your skirt on a building site.

Yes I can . Thanks for letting me know about this. I had a browse through your posts and was keen to see you wearing the petticoats or slip and stockings. Ive not thought of a leotard before now but Im keen to get a teddy with lace trim. You’ve clearly got this sorted and enjoy getting out and about. I loved your Halloween outfit with the orange skirt and black lace trim. And that you had a white petticoat underneath.

I also love your longer skirts and I can imagine wearing a full length slip underneath them with stockings.

Once my house gets back to normal I’ll try and take some photos of me wearing my slips and skirts etc. I’ve got time to buy a few more skirts and accessories first to pair with the slips I currently have.

I am on a 9 year and counting, journey of wearing skirts in public as a man. Before that it was all dressing in secret for over 40 years. I think I have the public side sorted, but the family side is still a work in progress. I do like skirting in public and meeting new people though.

Thank you. You can see there is a wide range from normal work outfits to full latex with petticoats. All this started from one Utilikilt, which I bought in 2016 after much discussion with Mrs Mouse.

Thanks Anthony. Yes I’ve got to grips with it. I’m also a member of Slip Heaven Forum as I have a love of slips. The Cafe is very similar.

Welcome, SatinDea, from another naturist who likes skirts and dresses. For me, it started with a persistent rash that was only solved by wearing unbifurcated garments. The medical reason made it acceptable to my wife, who was already often wearing jeans that were marketed as being for men.

I wear skirts and dresses almost all the time. When I'm selling at the farmers' market for a non-profit, I'll wear pants, and often also for a weekly peace vigil, where people already think I'm a fool standing on Main Street with a sign.

Welcome aboard. My sense in reading your intro is you have paid a great deal of attention to those around you; both spotting others using variants on the so-called standard/conventional dress codes and those who spotted you in some variations on that. It is useful to make observations but I suspect your focus upon the response of others to you, is actually creating a bit of a barrier as it suggests you are worried/concerned about the reactions and much of that can be read in your facial, posture, gait, presentation -- thus those "reading" your anxiety start to wonder "what's he up to". As you've noted here, pretty much all of us have been down the first jitters route -- my advise, try to focus more on just going about your routine business and not pay so much attention to others, as that will allow you to relax, come across as fully comfortable and natural in your outfits and surroundings, even if you aren't, but the appearance of such will bring the real comfort more readily, as you find nobody really cares what you wear.

Jim, I'm shocked at you -- farmer's market and peace vigils -- most wonderful and accepting places for MIS.

Jim, there was a guy in my home town years ago who worked with a girl I’d had a brief encounter with in our local street market. Whilst chatting to her the male approached us to chat and he was wearing a pink floral satin camisole with white lace trim and a light coloured short skirt. I will always remember him. He was very masculine in his physical appearance, He had a goatie beard, shaven head and tats. This was years ago, pre internet and I thought he was marvellous to be able to wear this in public. 30 or more years later and to be honest I haven’t seen too many other men dressed as he had, but they are getting more common in my home town. I’m pleased to see you are able to wear skirts and dresses when working. That must be so comfortable.

Faldaguy - I took the leap of faith a few months and using the life’s to short analogy I confided in my wife on holiday about what I wanted to do from here on in. I.e. wear clothes that would be intended for women. She responded by saying I have a satin fetish.
I cannot tell you the devastation this cause her. So I had lost the jitters and had loads of confidence, but caused my loved one huge distress.

So having found that confidence to go naked I applied that to dressing as I want, but if it’s going to hurt my loved ones then it’s not that important. Life is never easy.

I do still need to follow my heart hence why I joined the Cafe and now speaking to like minded people like yourself.

You will also find a large segment of this site talks about the challenges with family and significant others. So far, I've not seen any single "answer" -- lots of bits that have sometimes helped, but mostly it is time and the opportunities when your S.O. sees or is with you in public settings and discovers, like we do, it is no big deal for a man to wear a skirt.

I've wished we had a "manual" on techniques and insights that helped bring S.O's along, but alas we do not. It is probably the biggest challenge, even more so than the fear in our own heads. Some have given up their preferences for their spouses, bosses, or family. Some have suffered deeply from that too. A number of found some compromise and a slow "progression" have helped. I wonder if your wife's pronouncement of saying you have a "satin fetish" is an opening -- agree, own it and seek her guidance as a seasoned expert to help you find the pleasures you seek? "Fetish" is not in itself a disease; we all have preferences and favorites in things. What is hers? Good luck.

A couple of years ago I read about a UK company that specifically makes satin underwear for men, so it must be a common preference. I didn't keep the details as it's not really my thing, but if I see it again I will post.
