Does any walk of life still make women wear skirts?

Just that really, at least in the UK or US. Asking as it used to be lawful to bar women wearing trousers due to "convention" and public image. Now both trousers and skirts are so common for females is effectively unlawful to require skirts. Only possible exceptions maybe religions eg. Orthodox Jews. Workplaces, schools, doesn't seem to happen anymore, but stopping men wearing skirts is almost certainly allowed.

In the west, out side of some conservative religious activities, there are no restrictions requiring women to wear a Skirt or Dress.
I'm sure that there are some restrictions in some non western countries.

Around 35 years ago, a friend was required to wear a skirt for her office job, even though she was a computer hardware engineer and her job sometimes involved crawling under people's desks! But I don't think that is likely now.

I think the vast majority of school girls still wear skirts on a daily basis despite having the option of wearing trousers. Tbf I would have done the same if given the chance.

I live in a rural area and see a lot of "christian" families where the wife and daughters are always clad in skirts and dresses. Not Amish or Mennonite, just average families who spend a lot of time in church and related activities.

Pretty sure Navratilova wore shorts and nowadays they wear skorts or compression shorts under skirts.

I don’t think there is a requirement to wear skirts/skorts at Wimbledon but the majority of females players do. It’s the same for other tennis events and for other sports such as badminton and hockey

I checked on the Horse Racing in the Ascot Royal Enclosure dress code and trousers are kind of OK
A trouser suit of matching material and colour
A jumpsuit that falls below the knee and complies with the shoulder strap requirements
So from that, I imagine a woman can wear trousers as she pleases in other places, lower down the pecking order...

Jehovah Witness
If they are wearing mostly denim skirts is more likely. Most Jehovah Witness I encounter prefer long denim skirts.

And Mormons, if the women standing outside the Mormon Temple in Exhibition Road, London are anything to go on.

Could be. There's a lot of southern baptist churches around as well.
