Welcome from Bristol UK

Hi I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Robin and have been wearing skirts for a little while now. My wife is fully supportive and she is encouraging me to have no shame and enjoy being who I am. I'm just taking the first steps in going out in a skirt, rather scary but feels great.

Welcome to Skirt Cafe.
Does your wife accompany you on your skirted trips out or are you venturing out on your own?

Hi yes she does. We tend to go to museums and art galleries as I feel safe in these places. We have been to a restaurant and that was lovely as a member of staff was very complimentary about my outfit.

Welcome Robin. You are in a fortunate place having a supportive wife to share your skirted life. Please stick around and post a couple more times and your username will turn blue and you will then have access to the whole cafe, including the area we post pictures of ourselves.

Hi Robin
Glad to hear you're already out and about in public with your wife, having a supportive partner makes it so much easier to gain confidence.
Hope you'll stick around and join in the conversations.

Welcome Robin. I agree with the others that having your wife on the same side makes all the difference.

A big welcome to the café from me too. I live a bit further west from you along the M4 in S.Wales and having overcome the initial scary feeling now wear a skirt almost all the time - it’s great!

Hi Robin. There are often a bunch of men in skirts / kilts at the Bristol contra dance, and I've also seen them at ceilidhs.

Hello and welcome, Robin!
You're one of the lucky few, having a supportive wife (as am I) so make the most of it. Get your skirt on and you'll find it gets easier each time. From my statistically insignificant data set (we spent a day there about 4 years ago), the people of Bristol don't care what you wear.
And please tell us how you get on!

Welcome Robin! Yes, I visited Bristol at the weekend and had the impression that (in the centre at least) it was quite young/cosmopolitan and you could wear anything without attracting much attention. You're lucky to have a supportive wife (as am I)... it makes all the difference.
Maybe see you in London in 8 Nov?

Hi Robin. I’ve just joined the group and I like your idea of going to museums and art galleries where in my view people seem calmer and less intimidating. The closest I’ve been was a trip to London wearing a satin top under my jumper.. I’m within an easy drive to Bristol and may try wearing a skirt at the Bristol Museum one day. Who knows. My plan is to go to London and take the skirt, tights etc to change into once there.
It would be my first time in a skirt in an urban environment. I look forward to reading about your next adventures.
