Wish Dragon
I am surprised I have not seen anybody here mention the film, Wish Dragon.
The film’s not bad. It’s nothing I’d recommend, but, for the most part, it was an entertaining—that is until the end, when one of the protagonists disparages a godlike entity in traditional garb, saying, “You’re ridiculous! You’re a man in a skirt!”
Now, that line was offsensive enough, on its own, but the cultural context in which it was uttered (by a character, who also would have worn such clothing in his previous life, no less), makes it downright infuriating—especially since the godlike entity was not depicted in a comedic fashion.
This was just pure, ignorant, pandering to the lowest, pavlovian, common denominator, and it made me instantly hate the movie.
Anyway, I was just wondering if any others here had seen this movie, too.
