I tried searching but came up blank. And since I, who has a daughter in the right age, just found this out today I figured it might have blown under the radar for a few of you too. Sorry for all the large pictures, I hosted them at Imgur and forgot to resize them. Maybe a little more crossdressing than MiS, but he obviously enjoys it and in the end of the series is no longer pretending to be a girl but rather is his usual self in a cute dress so I think it goes in here too.

I bring you Princess Marco Turdina, from the show 'Star VS the forces of Evil' that ran from 2015-2019 on Disney XD, now streaming on Disney Plus.

It starts out as the male lead character needing a disguise to get into an all girls school/prison for wayward princesses but he keeps coming back to the same persona several times in the show, himself saying he looks pretty and "do I get to keep the dress".

He ends up inciting a rebellion with the slogan "individuality is not a crime" in the prison and the former principal hunts him down and as way of apology he dresses up and records a video for that antagonist, afterwards they sit down to play a board game with his family and he still had the dress on.

On the way back to the school to get a honorary degree as a princess he falls over in the carrage when it goes over a bump and we get to see that its indeed a pettycoat and that he even has purple heels to match(most times you see his feet they are in sneekers even in the dress). He also has makeup on in this scene, both eyeshadow and blush.

Later on he is back at the school and gets outed as a boy, and the princesses award him with a princess diploma and think its alright for boys to be princesses too.

I think I've got a new favorite Disney Princess anyhow. Would be a fun costume to make. I'm really surprised that the Disney execs let this one fly actually!

Found this one on pintrest, but its made by an artist that goes by Nintenderp. I thought it was cute.

Seb, this is a great fun find. We too can now dress up as a real Disney princess and the colour palette is purple to boot. The slogan is not bad too.

Heh! That was pretty cute! And purple is my favorite color. I have Disney+, so I might have to look up this show.

Sure this is fun and any of us could be that Disney Princess, except there is a slight problem.
Not Disney, I was at Alnwick Castle a few years ago when they had on a Harry Potter themed event for kids.
Loads of mini Harrys and Hermiones with quite a number who were probably Harriets.
Didn't spot any obvious Hemiones, I wonder why.
Like Princess Marco, boys, not men with free choice.
Our good old double standard starts with parents who are happy for their daughters to emulate any character she chooses but would have apoplexy if their son dared to adopt a female one.
Yup, pessimistic, but the stark truth for many boys too.

Marco finds himself in a princess dress for a grand purpose, later likes the dress and keeps it. That's always the worry isn't it? Giving boys the wrong idea, confusing them. They need to learn to be men, better start right away. For girls it's different - of course! Put this on my my sweet. I don't want too she says. Yes you do comes the reply, try it, you'll like it
I definitely agree that babies and children are socialised into their gender roles, if they don't fit the mould immediately, it is often (not always) OK. "Let him or her get it out of their system". There is choice for women and no choice for men.

I agree up to a point Stevie and if it wasn't for what I am now seeing with my teenagers, I woukd completely agree. Take my daughters friend Micah. A girl by birth but identifies as a boy. Micah has a boyfriend. This makes Micah a gay man. Micah's boyfriend identifies as a boy but is very androgynous. He likes to go full fem on occasion. When he does you would not know he is male. He really looks like a girl. Girls will be boys and boys will be girls.

All this is happening with the blessing of the parents. Modern parents are much more tolerant than our parents. The teens will have their way too. Times are changing and there's nothing the labour or conservative government can do about it. The youth of today will decide what the world looks like.

I could'nt agree more.

I think when you grew up Stevie, it would not have gone gone at all, I know for sure it did'nt when I grew up in the 90’ties unless you had some very, very progressive parents.

Now my generation grew up through a lot of the lgbt+ freedom movements loudest parts, when it hit the internet, and there is a huge peer pressure to accept whatever your kids decide to do, be proud of them and not try to hide it away. You hear people taking about their kids/grandkids/neighbours various alignments in casual conversations, even when it might not even have been neccesary, and not in a condecending way, just as facts like the temperature or colour of something.
And the kids being raised now have a lot more freedom to express themselves, as long as they know what they want (and the internet is not shy of providing ideas). Maybe their kids will be the ones that finally do away with the forced upon social gender constructs for once and just let their kids be themselves.

Disney letting a male character fully embrace a princess persona and get positive reinforcement for it? That's a pretty big deal, and definitely something that would have flown under the radar for a lot of people.
