since I've be growing my hair out over summer I've of course had to find a way to keep the hair out of my eyes. I use one of these types,me and the wife even when to Claire's for a few extras so we could "share. kind of got me wondering since these days long hair on men is perfectly acceptable, how common this type of hair accessory is in the general public? I've never paid attention before.

I’ve mentioned
Jack Grealish on here before. Maybe not the first, but probably the best known Alice band wearer in soccer.

I used them all the time when my hair was growing out, both thin plain single colour ones to big colourful ones with bows, bells or decorations in. They got a lot of compliments at work both from staff and patients.
I don't use them as often anymore since my hair is so long it does not keep it out of the way for work(I have it braided instead), cant have it fall onto a patient when moving or examining then. Still use the more decorative ones or put other hair decorations in occasionally in combination with a braid/knot.
I do use the plain ones around home when I need to get the hair out of the way, like gardening, renovating or when crawling under the car etc. I find they save me from the headache I usually get from putting it into a ponytail.

Here is an assortment of mine, the thin ones came in a ten pack with different colours. Been looking for a blue and red one with the same pattern as the yellow one. I do like the one with a bow though.

Like Seb, I used them when my hair was growing out: they were especially useful at that awkward phase when the fringe got to just the right length to keep flipping me in the eye. Now it's longer, I rarely use one, preferring either to tie it all back, or to take back the front parts and hold them with a clawed clip.

Not something I have a need for. My hair is more suited to a flat ‘at.
