would you wear these sci-fi unisex dresses?

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Actually, I might well not save for extremely casual times. Just not "dressy" enough for me I suppose. I prefer more formal looks.

I'd wear one..Would my hair grow back into a thick, blond bowl cut?

Sure I would, though not with the rope belt. I’ve never liked rope belts and prefer something with a buckle.

Yes, but as usual I would require some pockets.

Thanks - I had not known the origin of the pictures. I have seen the film but am not really a film buff - I prefer books. I can recall the film slightly but no the dresses - I probably thought of them as tunics. I recall some SF book mentioning kilts but can't recall this in The Time Machine even though I have read it twice - I love books but that doesn't mean my memory for the content is good unfortunately.

Yes I would wear them but I would wear the pink ones like the women. Notice that even in Sci-Fi men are relegated to drab colors.

Jamie.
In the context of the time when that movie was produced , the very idea of non-binary or agender anything would have been considered radical to the point of unthinkable.
That is just how it was, and really not about men being relegated to anything.
Pink was not considered suitable for men until the 1970s when fashion made it so.
Steve.
I have never seen the remake so see if it is any different now.

Star Trek in its day, which was from the future just had women in skirts in the crew....
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

I seem to recall star trek trying putting male crew members(in the background) in skirts or dresses at one point, but it did'nt fall out well. A little ahead of its time perhaps.

I watched the most recent version of The Time Machine on Paramount+ and these outfits
were not in the film. I can't find a streaming service which has the earlier versions.

Which version(year) of The Time Machine is this from :?:
Kilted Organist/Musician
Grand Musician of the Grand Lodge, I.O.O.F. of Texas 2008-2009, 2015-2016,
2018-202 ? (and the beat goes on ;) )
When asked 'Why the Kilt?'
I respond-The why is F.T.H.O.I. (For The H--- Of It)

And you will note that none of the (main) male characters wore those.
