Absolute ZERO expectations of this being a "happy" new year. Better just live my life the best I can, I guess

Indeed, if 2024 follows the path of every succeeding year since 1980 then it's going to be the most miserable yet. The billionaires will find it happy -- even joyous, indeed, but "little people", at least in the USA, are going to be, once again, "for it".

It will be an election year of record (in the USA) - nothing "Happy" about that - - -
There will be winners and of course losers - - -
Somebody didn't follow the rules or didn't like them (results) !
Requesting - no demanding - recounts or do overs - - -
So bah hum bug to the New Year - - -
I fear the worst

BUT !!! don't let that stop you from wearing your clothing (dresses skirts unbifurcated) of choice !
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

OK - How many more "Wet Blankets" will be tossed on this ? ? ? ?

If all you see is negative, it's because THAT'S WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE!

I want to see a positive and uplifting outlook in most everything I do.
Yes, I've had a rough year - BUT - I came through it :!: I survived :!:

Many may think I live with blinders on my eyes, but I don't. I HAVE SEEN the worst and best in people.
We still can get along with each other.

People rag on me about my 'political' beliefs. I've been verbally knocked down for telling truths.
This is one TRUTH that happened to me. Under the previous U.S. administration (Trump), I was able
to set back about $150-$200 a month in a savings account. Under the current U.S. administration (Biden),
that savings has been WIPED OUT!

I'm down to 2 meals a day but my bills are paid. I attend my lodge meetings twice a month, pick up my
on-line grocery orders, otherwise, I stay home. My ability to travel, see other places and 'things' is gone.

As I turn 73 this month, 2024 WILL be better for me than 2023 has been.

I hope that 2024 will be better for all of you, too :!:

Happy New Year!

Was a bit on the fence about writing that earlier today based on the feedback to this thread...

This is no comment on a America as such but the world needs more lions like Trump. I know how hated he is and I know about the things he has said and done but the presidents before him didn't do any better with more war.
Worrying times but there are green shoots for
MiS at least. Happy 2024 everyone.

Happy new year to all, and yes, hoping that 2024 will be a good one.

As my late father used to say, when you're at rock bottom, stuck at the bottom of a well of in a long dark tunnel of life, if you're not looking in the right direction, you won't see the light and therefore your way out, and, inevitably, there is.
Negativity is like being blindfolded in the tunnel, positivity is staying focused on that light at the end of the tunnel.

Happy New Year every one.

I wish I didn't have to care about who the Americans elected as president.

Yep, one arrived today and two on order.

An Adidas skater skirt arrived today, a short tartan pleated mini and black pencil skirt on order. All from ebay, all less than the price of a pint.
