hi guys
Good news that may influence the mainstream fashion :
No less than 65% of fashion brands presented men's skirts during the presentation shows of their fall winter 2023 2024 men's clothing collections.
Very short, reaching the knees or very long. But most often they are cut like kilts and are pleated. With all kinds of materials, dry wool, canvas…
At Dior Men there were 12 appearances in the fashion show and 10 at Comme des Garçons.

It seems the idea is on the verge of taking hold. It's a trend that makes perfect sense and only needs more brave souls to step up and give it a try.

You can now buy men's skirts on Amazon - and they are not expensive:

I don't think they are the highest quality, though.

The rather random text in the description, especially describing the object as shorts, doesn't inspire much confidence. However, it would sort out one of my problems with kilts - I actually have a waist and hips so the width of the waistband spans the gap between my pelvis and ribs. I'm left with either a baggy waistband or restrictions on breathing. That's why I would prefer to wear a normal skirt, if I could conquer the domestic opposition.

"adult maternity blouses for pregnant men"

From the blurb, something got lost in the translation, I hope.
As for the quality, you get what you pay for and it is a bona fide skirt, made for a guy.
What more can a man ask for, or a woman approve of, I wonder.
Sorry but this won't lead anywhere either, Adidas etc have proved that.
Steve

This is the same 'kilt/skirt' offered on Walmart.com.

You are probably right. But, as I've pointed out previously, they appear to be Chinese copies (also to be found on aliexpress.com) of an original design from this French maker:
https://hiatus-shop.com/fr/110-2019-2008-hiatus-basics

I have the one in the picture, and it's of excellent quality and beautifully made. I am away from home this weekend (in Dennis country, to be precise) and I'll be wearing it for a festive family lunch on Sunday :-)

I love the Hiatus styles and might even get one accepted indoors. But the price is out of my reach, unless I were skirted as part of my daily routine.

Copies, knock-offs and questionable quality, all likely very true.
However, at about 20% of the price, not that surprising either.
That said, I could also buy a perfectly acceptable skirt in Marks and Spencer or Next for £25 or so.
The only problem is that I have to forgo the benefit of knowing that my masculinity would be beyond reproach by paying the premium for the man part of the skirt.
The really good thing is that I don't actually care and will patronise whichever department caters best to my requirements, all sorted.
Steve.

Here's a couple more kilt/skirts for men, from Walmart.
Pic's are links to each web page.

All at reasonable prices. Yes, they're imported but for the much
lower cost, they will fit almost any budget.

Yes, let's hope that many mainstream brands also sell them at lower prices, and that the male clientele will be there

Hi! Fan of the vintage look that I am, I won't miss this event to find new cuts of skirts for men. Thank you for sharing.

Every year since I can recall the new trend in fashion is men's skirts. DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE! Sure men are be accepted in some same corners of the culture, but it still isn't part of the mainstream. You can have all the male celebrities wear skirts at high level social events but I'll wait until it becomes part of the everyday wear for common dudes we will have to wait. Change in attitudes is always slow. So expect these headlines in the future "Paris Fashion week 2030 skirts among the main new trend for guys"

What do we common dudes need to wait for? Others to go first? If everyone waits for others to go first, it never happens.

I ask myself those same questions all the time. Maybe a full page announcement that's it's okay for men to wear skirts etc. in all the local papers would do it. Probably not.
