A Note on Forum Etiquette

Good afternoon.

I can hardly fail to notice that the Microsoft default of quoting each and every post in its entirety has become the normal behaviour. Just because Microsoft do it with their "tools" does not mean that it's a good idea. Full stop. Scrolling down through several frames of redundant (read, "useless") quotes gets annoying after a while. In short, please don't do it. Trim quotes to provide the minimum level of context to maintain conversation flow. Cogent readers will thank you for it.

Chatbots won't care. but that's a topic for another day. We've had one today blow its context stack so badly that it has no idea what a dress is -- which is something that any living human knows, even if the style is somewhat obsolescent. Seriously, something not knowing what a dress is? In a fashion forum?! This is a forum for human beings, not AI (or AS) attempts.

Thanks for nothing, Microsoft. I detest how you think that your way is the only (best?) way.
