Not just the skirt: the garments that they describe as a "sheath" are heading in the direction of a dress designed for men (tailored, narrow, long-tunic style, lacking any of those inny-outy bits that suit the female figure).

That sounds like a design based on trousers. If men don’t want to wear trousers they can have something made from a single trouser leg.

It’s the variety of styles and materials that makes dresses so much fun.

More than that Midas, if the product isn't seen as a pleasure to own it won't sell anyway.
I really don't see much joy or laughter in these things at all and I really doubt them ever hitting the regular retailers.
Steve.

The models usually look dour. I suspect that that is how they really feel.

Something that fits well with (admittedly boring) menswear is a step in the right direction. It needs to be something that men will say "yes, this is a man's garment" or it will never get worn. And it can't require all new everything else, or no man will try it. We need to be realistic here

But also note that the men's tops are trying more fabrics. And doing so in a way that at least tries not to be a slovenly mess.

The tailored sheath (dress) that MB mentioned sounds like another great improvement. I'll admit I didn't find the picture, and execution is key. But something that fits a man's frame, but is completely different and totally masculine sounds like exactly what we need.

As to the dour faces, that's just normal for runway models. No idea why, but somehow they must think smiles would detract from the clothes or something. Sort if like how female models are expected to be built like walking coat-hangers. Makes no sense and isn't attractive, but that's what's expected in the runway...

I found this men's skirt sold though wal Mart.

I am Leary on ordering on as the size listings seem contradictory.

Let me know if anyone is brave enough to order on what the outcome is.

UK size 12 is not extra large, but the lower end of medium.

Found the Skirt on Walmart.com https://www.walmart.com/ip/2023-New-Yea ... hbdg=L1400
I noticed that it is a 'replica' kilt and the model was wearing it BACKWARDS
Look at the "Size Chart" - Asian Sizing, not fit for regular human consumption.
The brown 'kilt' has been cut off-the-bias, the pattern doesn't follow correctly.
Notice the hem of the garment - not standard workmanship :(

I wouldn't touch this using a 10ft pole with a 20ft extension :|

Update: I specifically searched for Skirt/Kilt for men on Walmart.com
Found the following 4 items;
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Kilts-for-Me ... 1222030679

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Moxiu-Men-s- ... 1429820451

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Scotland-Ski ... /215375472

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dopebox-2022 ... 1409676061

Some look OK but sizing is quite important. The waist is the most important measurement.
The Kilt/Skirt will let you go up 1.5 sizes thanks to the belt-buckle on the waist.

Pricing is not to bad, for a "Starter" Kilt/skirt :D

Why wouldn't you get it? They say
Wearing it will make you look more handsome
:D

I don't look at the size numbers; the skirts that fit me range from 4 to 14. Look at the waist measurements.

To me, this seems a reasonable way for a timid man (or one with a hesitant wife) to start as it is clearly labeled for men from a major distributor. You can't get a lower price for a skirt that is branded as for me.

The thing I noticed was that "small" was for a 37" waist while 5XL is for a 48" waist. Or maybe the waistband overlaps and this is the full measurement, not the wearer's waist measurement.
