This is a stupid question - but I am curious what others here think. I ran across a sweater the other day that has gold metallic threads running throughout:



I've had this for a few years - bought it from a site that doesn't offer returns. It fits well and I really like it - but have a hard time squaring away the metallic threads in the weaving. This may seem silly - here's a guy, who wears a skirt, but is afraid of a bit of metallic threading?

There's historical precedent for men wearing metallic stuff, but I just don't see that kind of style on guys... just curious what others think.

That's a technique known as "lame" with an accent-grave over the "e". It's common enough in women's fashions (or used to be before the explosion of shredded denim, leggings, and such stuff), and there's no conceivable reason why men shouldn't partake. The only downside it that it can be tricky to wash.

I have a check/plaid skirt with metallic threads in it and really love it.
It's from Joe Brown, 3 years old and washes very easily.
Real bonus, it rarely needs to be ironed.
I'd agree with Carl, Coder, just go for it, why not?
I bet less people spot the lame` than the skirt you wear with it.
