What feminine items do you wear?

Discussion of fashion elements and looks that are traditionally considered somewhat "femme" but are presented in a masculine context. This is NOT about transvestism or crossdressing.

Skirts
Boots, shoes, heels, crazy things for your feet.
Dresses
Nails polish
Earrings.

These I now all have as a man in the world, so I have largely satisfied the disappointed kid in me. Dresses Are still a work in progress, but overall I am happy with my range of feminine items that are now mine, in my style.

The other feminine items I have taken over is hosiery. Stockings and tights replaced long socks in my wardrobe as they felt so much better under my skirts. The big surprise was stockings, with industrial suspender belts, with more than just four flimsy clips. The ones I have, sport 6 or more straps with proper metal clips. I much prefer this solution over tights, except for really cold weather. Bathroom operations are far easier in stockings than tights IMHO
I've found suspenders to be a faff but wear hold ups with the rubber elasticated tops that grip my thighs and hopefully don't head south during the day. My unmentionables too are from the other side of the aisle, but those aren't discussed here, so I will be brief  denim skirts as well as formal pencil skirts for work, court shoes, knee high boots or booties. Sometimes a dash of lip gloss but that's as far as I go :)

I have some of those holdups, however I have had them fail on me a couple of times, so I prefer the security of a belt holding things up.

Totally with you on this topic. So I won't mention them.

I have found crotchless tights very handy and comfortable. You don't lose the airiness of a skirt, keep your legs covered when it's cool, and it's easier than garters or keep pulling socks up.

I sometimes wear women’s leggings with men’s dr marten or caterpillar boots but most of the time it’s sports leggings with women’s pleated black skirt that I bought from Primark. I have been searching high and low for a long time for a large French style black beret but eventually found one for £1 in the women’s department at Primark which I wear a lot. I also wear women’s scarves which are thin and very comfortable and have great designs and I wear women’s longline shirt with leggings when not wearing skirts.

Though I don’t wear in public I own dozens of pairs of fishnet tights and a few pairs of 1950s vintage style black 15 denier fully fashioned seamed stockings which are beautiful and feel amazing but I only wear those in the privacy of my home.

I am considering buying thick black tights for a change other than wearing leggings in public but feeling a bit shy just now.

What feminine items do I wear? None. I'm a guy. Why would I wear feminine items?

I believe that this is the reason that men wearing skirts will be in the far distant future. The average male on the street that may be toxic in his masculinity was raised to shun anything even remotely feminine. On the other side of the coin, women do not suffer from this problem. They were raised with the attitude that the world is their oyster. It doesn’t matter if it is a masculine garment, they will wear it any not be concerned that it is a masculine garment. For example boyfriend jeans. Why don’t we see girlfriend jeans for men???

Women know how to indulge and accept their masculine side. On the other had, men will require many generations before they accept the feminine side of their personality, if it ever happens. Masculinity is very fragile and very weak , more-so than an egg. When compared to femininity, masculinity is years behind in the stone age.

Just saying, the average man is bigger than the average woman. It tends to make possible for most women to wear "boyfriend clothes" whereas it tends to make hard or impossible for most men to wear "girlfriend clothes". Sometimes, forgetting about "high-level thingies" may help finding an answer, like the day I tried sewing without my glasses and happened to have eyes much less tired at the end of the day than I used to, but all the rest (advices given by specialists included) failed to help with it ;-)

Jamie, I would advise you to rewrite the above without the hate-speech. You are on very, very thin ice.

Maybe yours is - mine is fine.

I don't "shun" feminine things, I just see no need to adopt them myself. I manage perfectly fine without smearing lipstick or rouge on my face, or carrying a handbag or hobbling around in stilettos. I enjoy my masculinity - I enjoy my wife's femininity - I enjoy the difference.

Sorry, what's femmine again? One grows with indoor plumbing and one with outdoor plumbing. No major differences. Both run around, eat, sleep and poop. Both have emotions, both are courageous.

Why would anyone find differences where there aren't any and attribute bits of cloth to one or the other. Then change it's mind and tell one it could wear all the cloth and the other it could only wear certain bits and they had to be drab.

No such thing as masculinity or femininity. Just men and women. Cloth is just cloth. I wear whatever I want. At least in theory.

I think you are taking the question too literally, or the question could be better framed...

As soon as you buy an item it is yours, so the fact that it was marketed as a feminine product becomes irrelevant.

I think a lot of the feminine/masculine stuff is just marketing and the sooner we see through it the better. Classic pink feminine disposable razors, which cost double were soon ditched by savvy women for normal coloured razors. The same is true of savvy MIS who know a standard skirt labeled for women will be cheaper than a special unisex version of a similar skirt.

The first step in removing the distinction between products that are considered masculine and products that are considered feminine is to get rid of the sex specific color palette! This has not happened. If you were almost blind and all your could perceive visually is blotches of all colors, you could walk into a store and immediately tell if you are in the women’s or men’s department simply by the colors that you see!

In the men’s department you will see all drab colors. What shade of black, brown, blue, or gray would you like to purchase? In the women’s department, you will see all of the aforementioned drab colors along with all of the other beautiful and bright colors that you can imaging. When will this change? I know men that are not GNC like myself, but still purchase sneakers from the women’s department because they can purchase beautiful bright colors. When will companies stop marketing this shlt color palette to men?

I for one would love to see skirts that are cut for men’s bodies, however I am 100 percent sure that men’s skirts would only be offered in drab colors with no bright or floral colors. In addition, the material will be heavy and for lack of a better word to describe it “masculine”. Why can’t we have skirts cut for a man’s body that are identical in colors and fabrics to women’s skirts? The designers need to stop trying to differentiate masculine from feminine. We need to move past that archaic concept. We simply need the same skirts that women wear but cut for a man’s body.
