I like the way it's presented on the model. No frills, serviceable footwear, etc.
I like the green slightly better than the blue. Something I would consider wearing
for one of those nicer occasions.

I have one very similar in red, very comfortable and a definite favourite.

I have three that are similar, but with more of a flare, and really like them. One's blue, another black, and the third red. All are worn reasonably frequently.

Velvet is a wonderful fabric.

I have two like that in black with inbuilt slips, virtually a floor-sweepers on me - one is 38", plain and Laura Ashley and the other 41", sparkly appearance and CMD. Definitely best wear items and extremely comfortable and warm. The LA cost me £3 and the CMD £2.50. £85 phut, far too expensive!

I have a pair similar to that - one green and one purple. Nice and warm in cool weather, and I do like the simple, unadorned style.

Ah, a man who loves a bargain. Quick, buy that second one, it's got £238 off.

Of course. I may not be born in Yorkshire but am now an adopted one. Anybody that pays those sorts of prices, even the "sale" ones needs their head examining. The majority of the price is for A. M.'s name. The only skirt that has cost more than £5 is a genuine Scottish kilt and it was MOH that paid for that. Some I have been given so I have over 100 skirts at an average price of £2.52 each. Those that were gifts from MOH and are a bit big and some are just a tad too small so that I can, at a stretch ( ? ), get into them but they are too tight around the middle to be comfortable. I will get into them though ....

Ball park figures I am for < £5 for a skirt and < £10 for a dress. Up till now I have not broken either barrier.

I can't work out if I'm more impressed by your eye for a bargain or by your ability to work out the average price to the nearest penny. Do you keep a list, and if so, why?

The £476 one would ruin your average, best not bother with it.

I can never understand how two bits of material and some elastic for the waist are worth so much, even if the result was designed by a genius and is perfect in every way.

In the early days of my skirting, when I was gathering a lot of my stock from charity shops and ebay, I started to lose track of what I had in terms of colours, materials, patterns, textures and so on. So I started to keep a track in excel mainly so I wasn't buying too many of a particular colour and it just went from there. So when I buy one I list it now and of course it's easy to total up and compute the average in excel. Oh, and that average does include the kilt MOH bought at £25 so if that was excluded then the average would be even lower.

That is impressively OCD organised, Dennis.

Also have the Black and Red without underpants - CAUTION Zone.
Suitable for winter wear with tights - flashy skater apparel.

Alastair, I must admit that in some ways I'm OCD and in others a bit disorganised. When younger I was a philatelist and still have my collection which I dabble with from time to time. I also built models so learnt to use my hands for detailed work and I am a genealogist so the exacting work is part of my nature and upbringing, I suppose. But the list of skirts came about accidentally and I couldn't tell you how many or what type of my other clothes I have.

BTW I have just realised that I also have a velvet LBD. I put it on tonight whilst MOH was out. I must admit that I have a very soft spot for velvet type clothing.
