I always buy skirts with the slit at the rear as I don't like them at the front, or button-down A-line styles. This was never an issue with trousers!Daryl wrote:Before I wore skirts I never considered having any kind of a slit at the bottom of my bottom garment, much less one centred and at the back.
Before I wore skirts I never asked anyone to zip me up.

... went into a clothes shop to browse, on the off chance they had something I fancied.
... bothered about whether my clothes went with each other.
... bothered about what shoes I wore.
... looked in the mirror to check that my outfit was co-ordinated.
... put pictures of myself on the internet so that people could comment on my outfit.
... kept a mental tally of how many compliments I received for my clothing. *
... adjusted my hem before standing up.
... consciously kept my knees together.
... ran out of space in my wardrobe.
... owned footwear with heels as high as 1", let alone 2.5".
... upset my wife with my choice of clothing.
... turned heads while walking down the street.
... was asked about my choice of clothes.
... thought about how people would react to my clothing.
* As my total number of compliments on my skirts (other than kilts) has recently gone up to three in eight years, it is quite possible that I received just as many, if more.

Awesome list. I can relate to each one. Note to self: return to this thread one day and tally them all up.skirtyscot wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 1:56 pm ... went into a clothes shop to browse, on the off chance they had something I fancied.

Re: Before I Wore Skirts I Never...
Got so many wedgies.
It seems like the only repeat problem that I have encountered with skirts is the amount of wedgies I get in my underwear.
Primarily when I am getting out of my van and sliding off the seat.
Any others find they had this problem and figured out a way to reduce or eliminate the problem?
And don't say go commando, that is not an option I would consider trying.

Nylon tricot, or anything with a low coefficient of friction, works for me. The brand "Comfilon" might be worth a try.mishawakaskirt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 8:06 pm Got so many wedgies.

If you won't try the easiest, most comfortable way, I'd suggest going big or small, that is boxers or thongs.mishawakaskirt wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 8:06 pm Got so many wedgies.

One little known fact is that nylon is one of the best fabrics to dye. Unlike some other synthetics which require a degree in chemical engineering to dye, nylon seems to suck in the colour even better than cotton and even with ordinary cheap powder dyes like Rit or Tintex.

Try Secret Treasures from Walmart. Seamless Micro-Fiber, stretch great and no wedgies.
The full brief gives me the best comfort and fit. They slide on the skirt/kilt fabric
with no problem. The main point is - no cling to the skirt/kilt AND no wedgies!
Just my $0.02 worth, on this borderline prohibited topic, to answer the original question

At least with skirts it is not so common for fabric to be visibly caught in the intergluteal fold, except for some light floaty materials.
Before I wore skirts I never worried about the colour of the unmentionables.

Heck, before skirts I never worried about colour at all; all that mattered to me was that I was covered (which drove my late ex- crazy until I started wearing skirts and actually started showing some interest in how I looked).

Wear tights they stretch over your backside and there's no way they can wedgify!

Before I wore skirts, I could not co-ordinate colors but I did not give a hoot about it.
Now I wear skirts, I still can not co-ordinate colors but now I have a slight concern so I try to go the safe way.

Wearing mini skirts I avoid light and bright colours for undergarments, so an accidental flash will not so much be a flash but just dark shadows.
