Was this an Ebay item or something local to Australia ?denimini wrote:For the miserly:
I would like it with contrasting buttons i.e. black on beige or navy blue on white
and if making from a pattern would move the zipper to the side or back or even make the waist elastic.
"YES SKIRTING MATTERS"!
"Kilt-On" -or- as the case may be "Skirt-On" !
WHY ?
Isn't wearing a kilt enough?
Well a skirt will do in a pinch!
Make mine short and don't you dare think of pinching there !

Re: Items on eBay
Sorry, I didn't think anyone would be really interested in it with all those buttons on the pockets, unless they wanted a sure delay in producing their wallet.
I quite like the shape of the hem.

One of the very few skirts or dresses in the unisex clothing catagory on eBay.

The other one, well obviously they couldn't find a man who knew how to wear a skirt.

I like the look of this
But for the price, I would expect something with 4 wheels and an engine.

Re: Items on eBay
Who would be stupid enough to pay $6200.00 for this?

Re: Items on eBay
I don't like the look of it. Pockets like that are not user-friendly, and that may be why. Also in that particular style they look clumsy. I wouldn't give you $6.20, never mind $6200.
But each to their own.

Re: Items on eBay
Appreciate that this post was from 3 years back, but any idea where to get the skirt that is in your attachment? Really like the look of them.r.m.anderson wrote:Possibly may not post from the UK to AU and other countries ?denimini wrote:Sometimes see things on eBay that are beyond my reach, will not post OS, etc, that others may like.
Here is one that unfortunately will not post outside the UK. Lyocell is very comfy to wear and hangs well.

H&M has stores all over the USA and should not have any problem with an international posting from the UK to the USA
the only set back is the cost of the postage (almost like a pound for £ - LOL and not funny ).
Re: Things on ebay - yes they frequently are priced just right but then you look at the postage and it is a deal killer !
Combining things together is not an alternate solution like it is in the USA (flat rate shipping). Some sellers are intimidated
by customs forms and finding a postal unit for acceptance of the goods for shipment to a foreign country so they simply
decline to ship anywhere but local. If an item is wanted bad enough sometimes the seller can be coaxed with a monetary
surcharge for the trouble. I would think that in the UK there are FedEx or UPS facilities to assist a seller in shipping items
out of the country - but the hassle may be discouraging. If you want something bad enough check on that possibility!
I recently bought two skirts from a seller in Australia and the postage was more than the cost of the skirts Photo Img:
But I might add it was well worth it for me !
For that absolutely gotta have item it is possible for a few of our members in the UK to help a fellow out by having it sent to his
UK address and then repackaged and sent outside the country. For such efforts one would expect some sort of compensation i.e.
a nice vintage bottle of spirits and of course reimbursement for the postage charges.

Re: Items on eBay
I have a lot of ties, plain and ones with like cartoon characters on them. The ones that were all the rage years ago. I rarely wear ties now so only need a few. So that's given me an idea. Not sure that I like a skirt made out of just ties but I can see that a plain material, with the cartoon ties incorporated at certain points in the design, could look good. I'll have to see what I have and knock something up. I was thinking of the elasticated waist being made up of the deconstructed tail ends of the ties. Hm.
I believe in offering every assistance short of actual help but then mainly just want to be left to be myself in all my difference and uniqueness.

Bob Pettingill, up in Washington State, had one of these made
when he was playing in a band. He looked good on stage.

Re: Items on eBay
From memory, it was an Australian ebay seller but I haven't seen them for a while. I bought 2 or 3 of them, thinking at the time that they looked a legitimate skirt for a man, but I never really wore them as they were a bit long for me and I became confident enough to not worry about what people thought. They were about 34 - 36" waist, so if they suited you I would be happy to pass them on for just the cost of postage.FranTastic444 wrote:

The Australian Ebay seller was: thedepot89***
*** has not been active in over a year
Auction item: NEW Woman Lady Girl Fashion Short Pleated Mini Skirt Buttons 4 colors Size 8-16 (#321334661011)
AU $11.99 - S & H was almost double
Bought 2 one in gray the other in navy blue
Still have them for knock around leisure
Very durable smooth easy care fabric
17 inch hem line perfect for me
I removed the button detailing on the front for a more classic sleek smooth fit and avoid snagging on things
The straps on the sides are faux and are not functional like an utilikilt
These skirts zip up in the back and the waist is not elastic - about maybe 2 inches of leeway
With image LINK below - possible to have someone duplicate a copy not that complicated a design

What if you tried contacting them and asking if/when they’re going to have more of them?r.m.anderson wrote:The Australian Ebay seller was: thedepot89***

Many thanks for the kind offer, but at the minute I'm struggling to keep my weight down to the point where I can still get into 38's. Due to a variety of factors I've just not got enough cycling to work in this year to get down to 36 or lower....
