Not exactly advocacy for skirts, but a well-researched article. The story of King Wuling is an amusing parallel to our situation!
One of the links in the comments section is quite something. 25 pages of erudition which I did not wade through!

Perhaps we may see a return to the attitude that trousers are barbabaric.
Something we've known all along.
