Since Jan 11
Since Jan 11
Has anyone heard from, or about, Skip? There has not been a post from him since the 11th January, and I am quite concerned as to his wellbeing. I tend to assume the "worst", as he did/does have some serious health problems, which did explain the curmudgeonly posts that he sometimes did contribute. Any news?

A private message has been despatched in regards to this query, and if any salient news is to be found the moderation staff, who have been trying -- with various levels of success -- to follow it, find anything concretely new will certainly comment. We're all worried about him, especially with his known problems, but don't know enough for a public release at this time.
At the moment, we don't even know where to send him a "Get well soon" card.

Re: Skip,
I have his last PM to me dated Jan 7th, which was then about a Dental query. Since then I have had some correspondence with Uncle Al on the subject of Skip but no definitive announcement can be made on his condition at this time. I suspect his dental concerns may have been put on the back burner for now.

Re: Sending Skip a 'Get Well' card, he did locate himself for me in a PM a couple of years ago which due to capacity problems I have since deleted.
I know that in the US, Zip codes are king, but if one travels along the Florida Keys Overseas Highway 1 or 5, (Both numbers are on it) passing roughly W,SW, west of Long Key State Park and before you get to Duck Key, there is the little hamlet of Conch Key, with the Bayview Inn & Marina on the N. side of the highway. In that little development there is a sea canal between N.Conch Avenue and Seaview Ave. His permanently parked mobile home backs onto this canal, but I don't know which side of it.
In Ireland a village of that size would have a postman who would unfailingly deliver mail to just a name in the village, no more. Whether neighbourhood US post people know Skip well enough to deliver to him at Conch Key without his street No. or Zip code, I don't know.

I would expect that the people at the marina would know him. After all, he's easily recognisable!
Keep on skirting,
