I've not got a tartan on (I'm wearing a plain black tiered skirt at the moment) but at least am not sporting inseams.
I notice that you, like we, have snow on the ground. This'll sound cold, but I am glad that we weary inhabitants of the Worcester Massachusetts area are not alone. It's been a long cold and nasty winter, and this writer is very ready for a proper spring.
That goatee is positively awesome! Well done!

This may seem to be an odd question, but why a "National Tartan Day"?
Carl, the notion of some "Right" to a "Tartan" is farcical to say the least.
Find a "plaid" you actually like and wear it as you would like any other patterned fabric.
Steve.

I'm not in a tartan today, don't own one, but I did finish an 11.5 mile hike, then stop at a Starbucks and an ATM on the way home, all in a khaki utility kilt.
I suppose I should buy a tartan at some point, just to round out my wardrobe, but I have no Scottish or Irish ancestry to guide me toward a pattern, and I've never worn much plaid anyway. Plus, wool makes me itch. Plus, $600 or more is a lot of money. Hmm...
Today's weather in Phoenix, BTW, is low 64, high 90, clear skies, wind 4 mph.

				National Tartan Day
The National Holiday for All Scottish-Americans
"
Americans of Scottish descent have played a vibrant and influential role in
the development of the United States. From the framers of the Declaration
of Independence to the first man on the moon, Scottish-Americans have
contributed mightily to the fields of the arts, science, politics, law, and more.
Today, over eleven million Americans claim Scottish and Scotch-Irish
roots -- making them the eighth largest ethnic group in the United States.
These are the people and accomplishments that are honored on
National Tartan Day, April 6th."

But what of us sorry lot who cannot necessarily
prove Scots descent? Are we to freeze?

Went to Colorado Tartan Day celebration in my town wearing what else, Colorado tartan. Its a nice gathering every year. With my Viking side I could be part of Clan Gunn if I wanted to join another organization. The other side is Northern Ireland.

Got to ask about the preceding 7 ethnic groups, do they have a "special day"?
Steve.
