Not bad at all! I didn't notice any prices there, but I suppose if I need to ask then I probably can't afford them! It's interesting that the writer didn't seem to think there was anything out of the ordinary about men wearing skirts; it's only the tights (or "meggings" as he called them) that he commented on. Things are looking up!

P.S. My vote goes for outfit no. 7.

These will only amount to a breakthrough if:

1. These are widely available and sold in High Street stores AND

2. EITHER they are affordable by average guys

3. OR similar garments which are affordable are widely available and sold in High Street stores.

I hope these garments succeed, but I fear we have been here before and seen that these items are for the catwalk only, aimed at raising the profile of a particular designer and label, and then they are quietly forgotten. Sad but true.

They are already. But not in the men's department. I can't see any difference between these and skirts aimed at women, but I suppose that is what we are all saying all the time! It's good that such ordinary-looking skirts are being presented as menswear, even though the price is probably ludicrous.

Is no 13 wearing a dress?

And why is no 12 wearing a bullet-proof vest?

"Megging" sounds like some nefarious act that carries a 2-year jail sentence!

These are great. I love the grey skirt and thick grey tights combo - a superb look.

It is unlikely that these will find their way to the high street but it provides inspiration to others and allows us to point to some of these pictures in advocating skirt wearing for men in a non feminine manner.

If you go to the Givenchi website, it shows these fashions. It then tells you the stores where Givenchy goods are sold, e.g. Harvey Nichols, Selfridges etc. Then go on to the websites of Harvey Nichols, Selfridges etc.and see if you can see these garments - or any earlier Givenchy collections that featured what Givenchy call "kilts". You won't find them - because they don't actually sell them. They are for the catwalks, not for people to buy and wear.

BTW, for British readers, why do they call it Selfridges when they don't actually sell fridges? Come to that, why do they call Boots Boots? They don't have any boots for sale and, at the same time, I don't think British Home Stores actually sell homes.

Skirts 7 and 13 for me. They are an oasis of comfort in a sea of uninspiring bifurcation. For me, the shorts are a complete turn off.

There are skirts here I'd love to wear, but like others, I wonder at the price.

I have opposing thoughts on the black tights thing. On a couple of the models they look good, if drab. However, would black tights + skirt be just too feminine for most of us?

47 pictures: 20 of men in skirts, 23 of men in trousers, 4 of women in skirts (though presumably from the menswear collection). A healthy ratio!

Skirts 1 and 12 look quite good. Wish the models would cheer up a bit!

I think black opaque tights are almost unisex in that they mimic so much sportswear. Add a skirt and you're hardly into lacy frilly territory. Throw on black biker boots and that's a masculine look!

Asda do 300 denier opaque tights £3. Warm under jeans/pants,- look good with a skirt, and when worn under biking gear, they really help keep you warm against the windchill factor

300! What are they made of? Roofing felt? Chain mail?
