For those that wear them how is the fabric.
Does it wear well
Need ironing
Static build up
I've always prefered cotton never liked poly-anything
Seem like they maybe hot to wear
Thanks for input from owners/wearers

I have both the Original and the Hiking. They are both comfortable for summer, but the hiking kilt is made of very light weight synthetic fabric which makes it particularly nice for hot days. I also like the velcro system for adjusting the waist size -- unfortunately my waist varies +- 1 inch and this system comfortably accommodates this.
If you are looking for a traditional kilt, then this isn't for you, it looks enough like a kilt to easily fool the general public, but it's construction and fabric is very different. Depends on what your goals are....

Thanks for the reply
I've had wool clothing before for cold weather and know its too
warm for vegas summer time but have always stayed with cotton
or coolmax type fabrics
I know nothing of poly that they use but sounds like you are happy
with their product
I am probably going with the works kilt first

No works kilt just sport and sewn down pleats
Fabric hangs and moves better than i thought
it would. Seems to be well made
Just been wearing it when i walk the dog (3)times
Very comfortable and gives good range of motion
and still covers where it should

I simply must give Sport kilt a try. I should very much like a light weight kilt. And for just $10 extra I can can get it my specific length, I have read. I'm pretty tired of the standardized, too long, 24" on other affordable kilts. But does it hold its pleats?

Gerd,
I have just one Sportkilt...a Kilt-on-Fire which has swatches of the front tartan in the pleats behind.
Mine is 24.5 inches and hits the top of my knee.

What is best about them is the total absence of buckles, thongs and through-apertures. Just velcro, which allows it to be put on in seconds, also has a generous waist girth adjustment.. Mine has large hidden pockets behind the apron too, which I ordered.
The pleats are less fine or accurately made than the Scottish kilts, but adequate for the purpose, and they seem to stay put.

I like it. Tom K.

Only had it a week so i can't say how well
the pleats hold
Kilts are actually pretty formal looking to me
once i got it and wore it, i'm very casual in clothing
to the point i probably look sloppy, maybe the kilt
will help me clean up my act.

The only thing i've thought since wearing it
is the fabric could be heavier and still have
good drape/coverage but it's good as is.
I've worn slips and skirts around the house for
years but going out is still more akward than
i was thinking it would be. Kilted walks with
the dog for now. Maybe some late grocery shopping
i avoid crowds not kilted/skirted normally anyway
so no real change of routine. Wore it to pick
up some fast food going through drive through
a suprised look a couple of times, but nothing said.

I wanted to try the kilt out on a windy day
but at 25mph up to expected50mph
was a bit much.., no kilt today

If you were worried about exposing yourself, then think that if a 50mph gust of wind suddenly blew, everyone would be too busy trying to stand up straight to notice you!
I find that kilts and similar style skirts are remarkably resistant to opening or lifting up in the wind. Even if the wind gets under the front flap of the apron, it usually blows the other flap firmly against your legs at the same time.

Feel free to visit anytime! It would be a good excuse for another get-together!
