On this theme, I saw an article on "Foreign Correspondent" (an A.B.C. Government documentary) where japanese women are bemoaning the rarity of "real men" in Japanese society and call them "herbivorous men" more interested in their looks and fashion and uninterested in settling down and marrying. Skirts were not at any time mentioned. I did notice a Japanese man on the Noosa street using his makeup mirror to see a stray hair for removal!
