All these men are wearing kilts, not skirts by name, like named below.
W.Guttmann said: All those men, Sean Connery, Mel Gibson, Liam Neeson, and even Samuel L. Jackson wore a skirt in the movies. Other stars such as Alec Guinness, George Lazenby (James Bond 1969), Mike Myers, Ewan McGregor, George Clooney, are wearing kilts.
not garments named skirts, like for instance a kayaking skirt, or a hiking skirt, running skirt, or canoeing skirt. I can canoe, canoe canoe?
Will Guttman needs to clean his dark glasses to see what he's looking at.

Another case of wishful thinking that skirts for men were as accepted as kilts for men are. Some day..
What everyone listed is wearing, is a kilt, not a skirt of any kind or name. Guttmann's divider doesn't exist.

Yea, this is the old thing of "its OK for men to wear XXX if it's FUNCTIONAL." Real men shave their legs, as long as they're swimmers. Real men wear tights, as long as they're playing football. And real men wear "skirts," as long as they're kayaking.
I don't think this stuff helps our cause much. SkirtCafe is advocating wearing skirts for fashion, not necessarily because it's "functional" for a particular purpose. The taboo is against us intentionally adorning or presenting our bodies.
Frankly, I think that bit on color coordination was a bit weird. The article can't decide whether it's OK for men to wear "skirts" while thinking of anything beyond the purely functional. Anyway, just because a kayak skirt is called a skirt, doesn't make it a skirt. I wouldn't wear one anywhere but in a kayak.
