Saw a man in a kilt today in Ottawa. He was walking and I was driving so only a fleeting glimpse. Not as costume. Rest of the outfit was casual. I would have loved to stop but these 60km an hour roads and heavy traffic make that difficult. I was wearing my almost usual Sport Kilt. His looked like it might have been one as well. They don't seem to hang quite like the real thing.

Maybe not cafe material, but delightful with hope for the future. A youngish couple, girl, certainly and a boy, probably, in a dress.
They were very clearly at ease with each other and we managed a brief, but positive chat.
I think they were surprised at a positive reception from someone as old as their Grandparents.
Our own lives could have been so very different had we had such support and acceptance from our own peers.
If that's an example of gender blurring in action, I would defend it to the hilt.
Steve.

Wonderful opportunity Steve. I suspect not only was a chat from an ancient good for them; it may be good for the rest of us too as their eyes and minds were probably opened a bit too.

I've seen an older man in a kilt, usually with his wife around Chepstow a few times.

Wednesday outside Cabot Circus in Bristol. Saw a man wearing a skirt while riding a bike. It wasn't causing him any trouble considering the speed he was going at.
Also, near Temple Meads station I spotted what appeared to be a man (some women made a decent job of looking like men, intentionally or not) wearing a rather nice full skirt. I was upstairs on the bus, so only got a brief glimpse.

I had a fabulous evening in London with a friend.

I went shopping with her and bought a red tartan Hobbs skirt. £99. Worth every penny.

That’s not the news. This is.

I met a late 20 something man walking down Moorgate with his girlfriend. He was wearing a tartan skirt below the knee. I stopped him and said to him “that’s amazing. I love what you’re wearing. It’s so cool. I’ve just bought a skirt for myself, you absolutely rock that well done”. His face lit up like a lighthouse. I feel I have done my job, and I live to hope that one day I will experience the same thing. I also hope that I have the bravery of that man to walk wearing what I really want to wear. I told him he was authentic.

I am not judging or criticising you, but why were you not wearing a skirt? Your friend was OK with it, the 20 something man was OK with it and London would not have had the time to care what you wore!
Next time you are visiting London, give me a DM and I will meet you and we can discuss the point that "nobody cares what you wear" especially in London. We also need pictures of you wearing the Hobbs skirt.... :) :)
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

Please do. I am often in London for my work and can organise my work week as I choose.

Yesterday when I was doing my circuits to get by kilometres up on the bike I went past a group of 4 young people, as a guess, around 17 to 18 years old, 3 guys and one girl. One of the guys was wearing what was either a long sarong or an Aboriginal flag as a skirt that was down to about 6 inches above his shoes. From my passing glance it looked quite good and quite natural. Just a group of young people walking along chatting as they went, and they did not seem to draw any attention from any other passers by.

I seen a guy coming out of my local Home Bargains store wearing coat, short skirt and black fishnet tights. The following day walking in the university grounds I seen a young guy wearing skirt over trousers. I myself was in my usual attire of a black leather biker jacket, kilt, black tights and Dr Marten boots.

Last Monday in Morrisons (supermarket), Wells. There was a guy wearing a knee-length black skirt with black tights. I didn't get a chance to speak to him, but later mentioned it to my wife who said she thought she'd seen him as well.
I was wearing a tartan patterned knee-length skirt, which has been mistaken for a kilt, and black tights. As usual, no reaction from anyone :D
