It's good to see items like this actively questioning why things are the way they are, and why they might -- and possibly should -- change.

I've sent these 'links' to ABC News for Good Morning America & Nighline
as suggested segments. The response was automated that they read all
emails and would take my 'comments' under consideration. Granted, that
is what they say--The Proof of the Pudding is--will they do anything about it

I hope so as it's time to get the word out and to stop any potential ridicule
of Men In Skirts I did stress that just because a man wears a skirt/kilt
does not automatically mean Gay, Transgendered or Trans-anything

A skirt is worn for comfort, and men need more choices in their
limited wardrobe.

Lets keep our fingers crossed that something positive will come of this

I have serious concerns about getting the mainstream mass-media into the game -- not grave concerns, mind you, but serious ones nonetheless. My biggest worry is that they'll play the story for humour -- which is to say, take it out of context, as none of us view the act of skirt-wearing as a primarily humourous endeavour; we can joke about it from time to time to be sure, but it's not something we do to get ourselves laughed at.

I'll hold out hope that if any result is forthcoming it'll be thoughtful, provoking, and positive. However, given from what I see on the telly every day (or at least when I can be bothered to turn the thing on), I am not overly hopeful. Too, we'd better hope that the clowns at Fox don't draw a bead on us; there have already been casualties from that sort of attention.

I too have grave misgivings regarding the mass media. Fox is an arm of the Murdoch empire, and we know that the gutter press in England is almost entirely his creation. (Yes, I know he is an Australian, born=but now a U.S. citizen) The commercial print and electronic media plays down to the lowest common denominator, often to the detriment of any objective and balanced reporting.

Fox I don't even watch the 'Fox' Channel on TV
My main channels are (in order of preference) ABC, NBC & CBS.
Then I watch A&E, HGTV, some of the movie channels and
the Sci-Fi channel. I'ld rather watch CNN than FOX anyday

Brandy, as posted in 'skirts in the wild sightings' stated,
I was at the Makers Faire in San Mateo, CA a few weekends ago.
There were at least 6 Utilikilts and I thought I saw at least one man-in-skirt,
I do not know for sure as it was a last second side ways glimpse.

I mentioned it to my friend up from Long Beach, CA.
She says around Los Angles you see men-in-skirts all the time
nothing new there.

With so many ladies commenting on the posting I added this -
I see the future of men in skirts will be aided or doomed by the ladies in our lives. Ladies, if you feel that it's a good idea then help the men in your life find that freedom of skirts in themselves. Men will and DO what the women in thier lives think is ok.
So ladies help him get into it.
My wife loves me in skirts and helps me with choices. It's great!

Can't speak for the other women on the forum, but I'm already there and have been for a number of years. And, yes, I do help with clothing choices and do so quite happily.

I can certainly say that I am one lucky bloke! The best part, if I may say so, is that Sapphire helps with decisions rather than dictating. Somehow, I don't think I'd deal very well with being dictated to (it's the old "... and your mother dresses you funny!" notion), but gentle hints and considered guidance makes life much easier.

Surprisingly, aside from the "You look like a gorilla in a dress!" fiasco, I've actually done pretty well in learning how to put stuff together -- something which was completely alien before I took up wearing skirts! Sure, I've laid a few eggs (I may have some subtle issues with my colour-vision), but that's how one learns --by doing! All in all, I waited way too ruddy long to take this up -- I should have done so decades ago. (There's that dratted fear again...)
