Having looked on Twitter and used its search function http://search.twitter.com/ - I have found that there are quite a few sightings of men in skirts.

Here is the search terms I use. http://search.twitter.com/search?q=man+skirt

Most of the tweets that report a sighting of a man in a skirt are non-judgemental, some are positive, some negative. (Bear in mind that it is solely searching for any tweets that contain the search terms, so you get everything!)

What I take from it is that there are many more men going out there and wearing skirts than just those of us that post here. Hopefully this is a good sign that it is slightly more mainstream than we believe ourselves.

I hope that some guys that read the forums, maybe don't post themselves, and are still a little afraid of going out there and doing it can read through these tweets and perhaps realise that being a man in a skirt is no big deal to the vast majority of people out there that don't have the same interest in skirt-wearing as we do.

That was a fun read!

One thing that I know that is true in the Celtic Kilting Community is that there are far more kiltmen who never post on a forum than there are those that do. I'm guessing the same must be true in the broader Mug Community.

Think about it, a man who wears a skirt/kilt is not likely to care much of what others think about him, so he's less likely to begin with to even be part of a group like this one. Plus, how many people do you know that actually like to read and write as much as reading and writing on a forum requires?

We here all have two things in common, not just one, skirts/kilts and reading/writing. Yes, there are at least 9 guys in skirts who don't write about it for every one of us who do ... I'd say that should be encouraging for us all. Cool Twitter Search!

Mug ON!

You can reduce the clutter of tweets by searching for "men in skirts"
