Went for a jog in Hyde Park this morning, wore my black pleated skirt held up at mid thigh level with a belt. As usual no reaction from anyone, although it must have looked like running shorts from a distance.

It was a slighly chilly morning, with a beautiful mist hanging ovet the Round Pond but my legs felt no colder than usual. It felt very comfortable and freeing.

I’ve been thinking of getting a running skirt for a while and this was a little experiment. I’ve made my mind up to take the plunge.

You should feel free to wear skirts as much as you like in London, nobody cares what you wear as they are all too busy. I work in London in various skirts and have no issues. At the weekend I have visited in many interesting skirts all documented on my pics pages. Eight skirted men met in a restaurant in Whitechapel earlier this month http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 10#p264110
Daily, a happy man in a skirt...

I saw a very tall young guy holding hands with his girlfriend in Reading Station after the meetup. Both of them were Goths and Both had mini skirts with ripped fishnets.

Totally exposed on Monday 11th. Well my mini skirt was but nothing underneath was exposed.
In the morning I was servicing an evaporative cooler on the top of a neighbour's roof, opposite the police station. I was wearing a 12" blue denim mini skirt feeling confident of maintaining enough modesty for distant viewers, mainly car drivers in the street. I soon realised I had but 5 minutes to attend the Rememberance Day ceremony in the park so I quickly changed into something more respectful. I have usually worn pants to such gatherings but I had no time to look for pants so I grabbed another mini skirt that I had worn the day before. It was also 12" long but a khaki colour with buttoned patch pockets which I thought would be appropriate .......... but wasn't sure. As it turned out I wasn't the only one in a mini skirt because there was a young lady in a black mini skit that was fluttering in the wind making me thankful that mine was closer fitting and a stiffer material.
All went well and I was greeted by all afterwards the same as if I was in pants.
The Master of Ceremonies got to a stage when "Advance Australia Fair" was to be played on the loud speakers ............ nothing! There was another minutes silence, this one unscheduled and awkward, then the MC proceeded to sing it himself, unacompanied and without a good singing voice. I thought that he had more guts than me wearing a mini skirt to such an event and we all applauded him at the end.

Anthony, I don't see any reason to have reservations about a skirt at a celebration or remembrance -- given the styles of soldiers over the eons, short pants, fustanellas , tunics, ribbon skirts, bases, breach or loincloth, et al -- a short skirt might be just the perfect honor! At other public events, parades, celebrations skirts seem to be a great addition to the joy. Sadly, I've had two more 'memorial' services recently, skirted as always, and nary a blink -- even by the family's relatives from afar who don't know me. Granted, our temperature is such mine a a fair bit longer!

Took the plunge and bought a sports skirt from Amazon, and went out for a first run this morning. Like most of these skirts there’s a pair of stretchy shorts sewn inside which part of me thinks defeats the object but it still felt nice. Maybe I’ll take out the shorts so I can choose what to wear underneath.

Welcome to the world of skirted running! I do it myself, quite regularly. If you look, you can find athletic skirts that were made without the shorts built in, but they are less common. I've seen them marketed to certain sports, like triathlons (cover after you hop out of the water) and lacrosse (no idea why). I'm sure if you look you can find more. I've also found a couple actually marketed to men (and unisex), if you believe that. Good luck!

Kilt. Had a woman compliment me on the pattern. Was in Walmart wearing a Gunn ancient pattern kilt got a compliment from the cashier. Met the neighbour, a younger man, I was wearing g a half circle brown, blue and white check pattern skirt. No comment. Have had lots of look overs by others but no negative comments.

I went into an open cafe after a hike in the woods. As I was passing by a group that had finished before me a gentleman said something that I didn't quite get. I turned back with a puzzled look and he pointed toward my calf length A-line denim wrap skirt and said" that looks comfortable for walking. I wear skirts so regularly without any comment that I was kind of surprised by his. I smiled and said ;" The most comfortable ever." Hand his whole group nodded agreement and I walked on.

Thanks - will look out for those. I’ll be out for a little jog in Hyde Park in the morning!

I've been in in the Augusta area for a week and a half wearing various kilts out and about. I've got four nice kilt comments from women and three nice kilt comments from men. Met my daughters husband's family for the first time. The one grandmother is of Irish descent and she liked my kilts very much. The others were accepting of my kilt wearing. Seems like wear a kilt in Georgia is acceptable.

A little bit of a first for me. Ive usually kept school(my daughter) a fairly free zone from skirting - keep a long coat or something over our make sure Ive got jeans/shorts when I know Im going there.

Well, today I went to the Christmas Lucia show they hold, and I did'nt think to much about it 5am in the morning so I put on what Id left on the rack. A black knee length dress, fleece tights and a christmas sweater and my Invader boots. Got stuck in an operation at work so jag to rush to get there on time, picking up my wife att the front door on the way.
All the kids in her grade, about 40, all their parents and a lot of grandparents too. No weird looks, no comments, but I did feel a little out of my place truth be told.

Usually Lucia shows are very gender divided so it was nice to see a few of the boys in the girl roles and vice versa. (Most of the boys also have a dress/"robe" but with a different collar than the girls). Tärna and sjärngosse.

Packing for a week long trip to Melbourne, this was the first time I did not include any pants at all. I just could not imagine a situation where I would need pants as a backstop or some kind of psychological security. I was wearing mini skirts everywhere and generated very little attention apart from a few second looks.
I was hoping to be home for Christmas but car trouble and waiting for the part I need will keep me longer. I guess better for the problem to show up here than half way home on the Hay plains in 40C heat.

What did I wear today? Pants I just got back from walking the dogs, or rather slip sliding on the icy ground. It's minus 14 C right now with a windchill of minus 23C. Oh Canada.

I went out today doing some Christmas shopping and I wore a violet/purple with black paisley pattern pinafore dress, ripped black leggings with black fishnet tights underneath and a black trench coat and purple silk scarf and my usual footwear of Doc Marten boots.

The walk and shopping went well and no bother at all with people passing. One woman passed and I noticed her staring at my dress and legs looking very intrigued.
