Seriously?

Hi all. I was talking (well, through the wonders of msn) to one of my more supportive friends

who suggested I try something like
this...
Personally I'm a bit dubious myself, but she was convinced it would work in the right outfit. We're probably going to go to town sometime and experiment with what does and doesn't work. I did sort of agree to try everything, so I guess I'll have to be prepared to look a bit silly at times
Anyway, what do people think? Is it really possible to make that style of skirt 'work'?
Cheers
Monster

That's a nice looking skirt, but
WOW is it short! Getting something like that to work well on a man's build might be a bit of a stretch, but if you don't give it a whirl you'll never know. Far worse than occasionally "looking silly" is to never try anything new!

Yeah, the one in the pic is just the generic style I'm talking about- I'd probably want something a
bit longer

but I'm sure I could make something work

any thoughts as to what style of shoes I should wear with one of these skirts? Obviously you wouldn't wear work boots or something with it

like I said, I'm prepared to try anything once

I had problems accessing this but succeeded with right-clicking and selecting 'open in new tab'. (mind you, I'm on a Mac, so don't know what it's like for the rest of you....)
Here's the resulting URL which worked for me, but it might not work when accessed by direct clicking.

I actually quite like this style and maybe I would like to think I had the nerve to wear it out and about.
There is fashion here in the UK at present for the younger ones (mainly women, I have to admit) to wear flared miniskirts with dark opaque tights and flat or low-heeled shoes, combined with an unbuttoned knee-length coat/jacket. It looks very smart and I might well have a go at that look.

As Carl said Pete, give it a try (and don't forget to share a picture with us).
Personally I would not wear that as I don't feel (socially) comfortable in anything frilled and I would be concerned about it catching a breeze and lifting; not a view I would want to impose on others. I do, however, wear skirts that short and enjoy doing so. Unfortunately I have come to the conclusion that I can't go out in them if I'm going to need to sit since, unless I cross my legs above the knee, there is no way to avoid displaying my underwear in skirts shorter than about 20" and it's tricky in anything less than 25".
Have fun,
Ian.

Ok, I've tried 3 ways to get the pic up on my screen.
I keep getting Google 404 error no matter what I do.
Please post the full address without linking it to anything.
I will try a 'cut and paste' method to see the pic.
Thanks!

Try this...
Code: Select all
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_jY66vY0vNvI/SBvAK66qOiI/AAAAAAAACr8/Smdig8bEYwA/9.jpg
(Obtained by selecting the quote option on the previous message with a link and then copying the full url) I had to add the code tags to prevent phpBB from abbreviating the url.
Have fun,
Ian.

Nice skirt I have to admit, maybe it is good especially for the hot summer days which seem a bit far from now. Also I like the shoes on the picture

Thanks Pte, the one in the post under this post worked.

Does work. Thanks for all your work getting links in so everyone could see that fine
skirt. A little fluffy in my tastes for
skirts, but very nice. I'm wayy too physically fluffy for that
skirt.

Hey, I really like it. To wear miniskirts, you have to have the right build. I have a skirt a lot like it, but with just one tier instead of two.
Would I wear it in public? I'd be careful. Wearing short skirts takes some getting used to. You always have to be aware of how you're bending over (you don't) and sitting. But after that it can be fun.
I wear even shorter skirts in the ballet studio. Extra-short skirts are de rigeur in ballet, just long enough to cover your crotch. That kind of changes one's perceptions as well.

Thanks for fixing it so my curiosity could be appeased, Monster Pete. It's neat, and long enough and wide enough for one of my legs.........Bob, they don't call a male ballet dancer a ballerina(as you said) do they? I don't know what it is, but I didn't think it was ballerina, is it?
