Okay we aren't rannies but this kind of thing can affect us

It looks to me as if this man might be an exhibitionist. If this is the case, then the ban is fair and quite reasonable. Any pogrom by parents would be definitely against the law, however their concern may have been aroused by actions on his part. There is never enough information to make a fair judgement from a media source.

Guys like this do a lot of harm to our cause, this skirt is way too short to be worn without underwear. Though I can't help but feel sorry for him that he feels so sad and lonely that he needs to loiter around other people's families.

Sorry, cannot agree with that! The bloke was persistently attempting to gain access to the school by tagging along behind the kids. The poor chap is mentally ill, not that the courts could give a damn, instead making themselves look as foolish as he did, by slapping on an ASBO. Unfortunately, he's done as much harm to our 'cause', as the selfish crossdresser elements in society continue so to do.

Merlin has put it mildly. If he had approached my kids when they were that age, I'd have put a serious beating on that silly mother_ _ _ _er. I don't see anything defensible in his actions, mentally ill or not.

I was going to vote for his fashion freedom; BUT he CROSSED THE LINE wearing a copy of
THEIR SCHOOL UNIFORM in or near the school. Not the brightest of ideas and even more
so with the timing during school hours and from I gather not just an isolated incidence.

I couldn't agree more with you sas. I mean we as men are trying to gain the right and acceptance to be able to wear skirts when we want and where we want. Then you have a guy like this that wears a short school girl skirt with no under wear or any kind of legwear and then wonders why people would freak out. Me being in the EMS field I see so many people like this on a daily basis and most of them are in a lock down unit of a skilled care facility. Now if this was a person wearing a skirt in a respectable manor who just happened to be passing by or through the area as the kids where going to school I don't think anyone would have said a word. As a parent I would begin to wonder and worry too if i seen the same guy at the same time's wearing the same outfit around my school age children. Both of my girls think that it's cool that there dad wears a skirt from time to time, becuase when I do I do it as there dad not some freak!

To amplify Tooslowprius' comment. Warwick is seen as a "redneck" town, however I have walked outside a local primary school at opening time skirted and have had only friendly , not derisory, smiles from parents escorting their children to school. Give the parents in the Trigger case the benefit of common sense. They, rightly, perceived a threat to their children's safety and reacted predictably. The authorities now have acted and Mr.Trigger is on notice and will be kept under observation. On further thought, I remember the two state high schools in Armidale had extremely short skirts which I considered inappropriate and, if he was wearing something like that--- yechh!!

Likewise! It seems he was just 'tagging along', hoping to pass undetected, and join a class! Whilst understandably, both school & parents were extremely perturbed, the resulting action was probably the wrong way to address the issue. What do I mean, "probably"? I mean, "It was totally the wrong way to treat a mentally disturbed individual!" What would the authorities have done had it been a woman, so attired? Would they have dared issue an ASBO restraining her from wearing a skirt? They'd have had every woman's group in the land baying for the magistrate's blood! And rightly so! Part of the problem we have in the UK, is that folk similar to this, were cast out of 'safe' (& I mean safe for them, as well!) mental institutions and put (dumped) into "Care in The Community" schemes, where they were literally left to fend for themselves. The word, "Care", in UK Govermental terms now means, "Give lip service, snatch away their benefits and abandon folk, while remembering to turn a deaf ear".

He has only been banned from wearing his "schoolgirl outfit" during the crucial hours and is free to do so at any other hours. Merlin is right in his assertion that high security mental institutions have been done away with as cost cutting measures.This has happened here in Australia as well, and the mentally disturbed are put into extremely low budget boarding houses or halfway houses- or tossed out on the street and, if they're lucky, a homeless shelter! and "trusted" to take their medications. Although they are sectioned for a short while, they are soon enough thrown out to fend for themselves. I wonder if the fact that he was the sole carer for his dependent mother make the authorities reluctant to take action in temporarily removing him from the area and psychologically getting to the bottom of his problem.
EDIT I wouldn't say that he was totally harmless either. To wear a schoolgirl uniform around the precincts of a school sounds, to me, like a fetish and what fantsies may be there are unknown. Childrens safety must be paramount in any civilised society. Parents must have this worry too, as they are taking evasive actions or travelling in groups for safety (convoys and U. boats?) If I was a parent in this situation I, too, would be seriously worried. This does not condone abusing him but, I'm sure that is a VERY small minority of parents, most taking their concerns to the relevant authorities who have done all they could given the circumstances
