I am a fashion designer working in the Newcastle UK
my interests are FOOTBALL...I was told to say that as opposed to Soccer and of course Fashion

I would like to see a "football" team cladded out in skirts as opposed to them horrible shorts...

OK--I'll pose a question to you concerning design.

Several of 'us' here have tried to come up with a Man's Skirt.
We each have our views and opinions as to what would make/
be a man's skirt.

Would you be willing to show us your thoughts
about this? A design sketch?

I agree except some may feel that 'modesty' is compromised.

Um, would that "football" team be wearing some kind of horrible shorts under the skirt to ward off major grass burns from skidding 10 feet on their backsides?

With nothing underneath that could get very painful if one lost his balance...OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW OW !!!

I was thinking of a silk/satin job in the same style as "football" shorts, ie with logoes/badges and numbers but with inner lining to keep the 3 piece in place so to speak...

I,m usless at posting pics but will try later

Modesty compromised? What about women in skirts playing tennis? Apart from a certain poster nothing more than underwear is on show How much worse would it be for a male team? Some here have played hockey in hockey skirts etc. Surely modesty isn't really an issue? Presuming there is no 'commando style' shennanigans!

For that matter, guys play field hockey, sometimes in the same uniform that the females wear. Modesty can be taken care of by wearing underwear that matches the skirt and covers the parts needed to be covered. Yes, if someone falls over, there will be a bit of thigh showing, plus maybe a pair of underwear.

It might be a good idea for someone to wear protection in that area, just in case a soccer ball makes its way under the skirt, but, I don't see there being any complications. The skirt would have to be full enough to provide enough room for someone to run in it and probably should be maybe a couple inches above the knee for comfort reasons, though.
