the thing is 12in. long so I bought 2 in a size 11 which is about 32-33in waist. I have some plans for it which includes taking one of the skirts and cutting some off of it and sewing it or having it sewn on the bottom of the other one to get some length. I'm thinking around 18+ in. added on for modesty.

Nice little skirt. How is it that women seem to be able to wear these, and men somehow aren't able to wear them? Or is it just that we aren ot used to it?
No matter what you have under the skirt, the skirt is the same length for both sexes, and should look the same. Don't think men cannot wear short skirts, because men just as women can also wear swimming briefs, and they are really revealing
. If they can wear that, they can wear short skirts.

A man is the same man in a pair of pants or a skirt. It is only the way people look at him that makes the difference.
I stopped wearing skirts that short in the early 70', although I do have a couple of mini mini skirts.
As a number of you on this forum have proved, guys look great in mini skirts!
Just a caution though. This skirt is sized for Juniors, is slender high school girls, so the proportions are different from Misses sizes.

The size 11 fits me loosely but it was the only size they had double of so I bought 2. Girls and guys can wear short skirts, but just like guys, girls gets self concious of the way they look. Very few girls will buy a skirt like that and not feel somewhat self concious. There's not as I said before, a huge difference between the way guys and girls perceive themselves. Girls might to go school one day with a mini skirt on and guys think nothing of it, but then the girl comes to school the next day in jeans and the guys ask why no skirt, the girl replies "if you got the amount of looks and the types from the guys that I got, you wouldn't wear one again either". Which I've heard from several girls over the years.

I'll concur with that notion, although I wouldn't discourage anyone from wearing such a garment if they can pull it off (which has a slightly different meaning from "get away with it"). It doesn't help that I'm over six feet tall; a twelve-incher on me would look like a wide belt. The shortest I've ever worn in a public setting has been one of my 17-inchers, and those pass the "old school" test of a miniskirt -- my fingertips can touch my legs below the hemline.SkirtDude wrote:Looks good on you but like Sapphire alluded to it is way past my emotional hemline limit.
I like term "emotional hemline limit", by the way. It pretty much sums up the way my head works on the matter.
That compares well to a conversation I had with one of the off-duty wait staff at my local watering hole one the matter. She knows that I wear skirts, and when I asked her how women actually manage the things she was quite candid and open on the matter sand rather flatly said, (and I'm paraphrasing now after this time) "You just need to be aware of everything around you, and how you move relative to it; you actually wind up planning your movements in advance so you stay modest." I mentioned that it sounded like a lot of work, and that I'm not sure whether I'm up to it, but she replied that it just "takes getting used to" and encouraged me to take some risks.Bri wrote:Girls and guys can wear short skirts, but just like guys, girls gets self concious of the way they look. That said, there's precisely no way that I could deal with a 12-incher -- there's just not enough fabric to hide what needs hiding on me. That does not mean that if you can pull it off you you shouldn't!

My fiancee (maybe I said this before) won't actually wear a miniskirt in her neighborhood as she currently (but only for 2 more weeks, or a week and a half) in a very conservative mormon surrounding that loves to gossip. She told me that by the end of the day if she wore a miniskirt outside just standing, her mum would know about it. She's also at church showing off her ring and possibly bragging about me and all that (excites me) and it's one of the last times she'll have to wear a skirt to go to church. I asked her last night if she would be happier to go to church in a pair of jeans or shorter skirt (when it gets warmer) and she replied with a quiet but happy "yes".

Skirt length is relative to body proportions . I am 5'7" tall with short legs and arms. I wear my skirts as I would jeans at the hip. I have on a 13" skirt and it comes 2"s below my finger tips or about 3-4 above my knee. One time while swimming the captain of the boat looked at my shorts lying on the deck and asked who's Daisy Duke shorts they were. The shorts were low waisted and had 2" inseam. The captain's shorts had a 4-5 " inseam (typical guys shorts for boat captains). The captain was tall skinny guy about 6'. When we went out for dinner I turned the joke around on him by showing my shorts were finger tip length and his were almost to his wrist. The rest of the evening the others kidded him about his short shorts. Looking at the picture in the target photo, that girl has more leg showing from the skirt to the knee then I have from the crotch to the knee. 12" is finger tip for me. The skirt I am wearing in my avatar is 13"
