Couyalair, you have a great life! Being able to choose between skirts, trousers, or nothing at all, in a country that famously respects people's right to do so anywhere in public, is fashion freedom at its best. Keep enjoying life, and keep letting us know how you're getting on!

Just to add my bit to this - the site is intended to discuss men wearing unbifurcated garments. I'm sure there are plenty of sites for "naturists" to discuss wearing nothing but, while I am not in any way hostile to naturists, I for one would not like to see MIS associating with the naturist lobby because our aims and intentions are very different. For me, nudity is a private matter and relates to the intimate aspects of the lives of those of us who are not naturists.

I have worn skirts now for several years and never caused offence to anyone while doing so to the best of my knowledge. If I thought it really did offend people, I wouldn't do it.

Someone said this thread is not a good subject for this site. Okkk..but since August 10 of 2010 on it's startup date, it's engendered 92 responses. Someone must like it. No? That's almost (but not quite) 4 months of responses. Or an average of approx. 25 posts a month. Seems popular to me. I'm probably wrong. :faint:

Thank you, Owen. Yes I think I am lucky to have been able to move to the Mediterranean. I should have done it years ago!
Yes, I can choose what I wear, but (although there is no law against either skirts or nudity in Spain) I know perfectly well that my attire marks me out as an oddity. I can well believe I would find myself in the same situation Skip has described (of I were looking for a partner) that any possible candidate would run a mile rather than go out with me skirted.
I know of only a handful of kilt-wearing men in Spain, all because they have visited and liked Scotland. I know there are a very few men that wear skirts occasionally, but do not get the impression they stray far from home in them. Until Franco died, Spain and Portugal were probalby the most conservative religion-bound societies in Europe. The younger generation has gone to the other extreme, but the majority still have the old mentality. The government ministers swear loyalty in front of a crucifix, men wear trousers, and lots of women still wear skirts.

To reassure you all, and to reduce the jealousy of anyone that might think I have more fun and more sun than I should; I am fully clothed -- nice shirt, light pullover, smart tartan kilt -- to go country dancing, my favorite pastime. I'll also take raincoat and umbrella, as it's pelting down again.

By the way , Owen, although I can wear trousers, I don't !

No Skip, you are not wrong, but you are in danger of confusing popularity with being right... Anyone unsure about the difference may go back through the list of people who've been popular enough to become President of the USA, the difference ought to become obvious irrespective of your own political leanings.

I could also point out that 40 of the (now) 94 posts are off topic, about being naked or responding to being naked posts. Another 9 are "I'm trousered" posts. Add them up and that's over half the thread outside the forum scope. I'm not saying this thread is wrong, but the question "What did you wear last time you were unbifurcated in public" may be a better match to the stated aims and aspirations of the café.

Please don't take that observation personally Skip, even good things can often be improved.

Have fun,

Ian.

Bright green short sleeve T shirt, gray linen straight mid-calf skirt with attached red nylon underskirt and 12" rear slit, green socks, brown leather loafers. A comfy outfit for the 65F weather we're having now in the middle Florida Keys. Add a gray fleece hoodie when I go somewhere in my van. :D :D :D :D

I'm wearing a plaid shirt, long pants, and boat shoes with socks. Another day I may be wearing a dress, and if it is a formal dress, tights and heels.

Oh heck, something has to be said about this nude thing. If I was in the nude, my bottom and thighs would stick to the polished wooden chair in the heat, and the sweat might trickle from my pits down my bod. The soft absorbent cotton knit t-dresses solve all that while loose enough in the "L" size to provide ventilation.
